Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on the Everton midfielder James Garner at the end of the season.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, the 22-year-old is ‘on the radar’ of the North London club and they will have to compete with other Premier League clubs for him. Newcastle United are keen on the player as well.
It is no secret that Tottenham need to sign a quality central midfielder and they have been linked with players like Conor Gallagher in recent months.
Garner has established himself as the key player for Everton and he could be available in the summer, especially if the Toffees go down. They are currently fighting the relegation battle and they will be desperate to preserve their status as a top-flight club.
Garner helped Everton secure Premier League survival last season and it remains to be seen whether the 22-year-old can make a defining impact this season as well.
He is a hard-working midfielder who is versatile enough to operate in a number of roles. He will add drive and defensive cover to the Tottenham midfield. The North London outfit could certainly use someone with his work ethic and he could be the ideal fit for their style of play.
Everton paid £15 million for the player when they signed him in 2022 and they will look to make a substantial profit on him. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can agree on a reasonable fee for the player.
