Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the move for the Argentine midfielder is Ezequiel Fernandez.
A report from Football London states that the 21-year-old defensive midfielder could be a potential option for the North London club as they look to improve their midfield options.
It is no secret that they need to bring in a midfielder this month. Two of their starters – Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr are away on international duty and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with an exit from the club.
They will need to add more depth in the middle of the park and the 21-year-old South American could prove to be a useful option. Fernandez is highly rated in South America and he has a bright future ahead of him. Tottenham could help the Boca Juniors midfielder develop further and fulfil his immense potential.
Fernandez is capable of operating as a defensive midfielder as well as a central defender. His versatility will be an added bonus for the North London club if they manage to secure his signature.
The player is likely to be tempted to join the Premier league club if there is a concrete offer on the table. It would be a major step up in his career and he would get to test himself at the highest level.
Regular football in England would accelerate his development as well. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham come forward with official approach to sign the player in the coming weeks.
