1882 Fan Boycott Underway As Levy Shortchanges Premium Punters

By The Boy -

Daniel Levy the master negotiator – is of course – the master bungler.

Over £600million the red, players dropping like flies and just today some £1million pound no mark mooted as a replacement for Hugo ‘33 this year‘ Lloris.

The Harry Hotspur blog understands from sources close to the club that Levy’s even managed to disaffect many of his core punters, the 1882 mob. And paid for seats are increasingly being left empty.

Anyone who has either worked in or experienced public facing roles knows that in the 21st century, service and reputation are everything.

The modern premium customer doesn’t do second chances, however they do gripe like hell within their own network.

Empty seats in premium/corporate sections are already ‘a thing’.

The standing issue has been causing chaos and despite fans contacting the club, still the problem that ruins the coveted ‘match day experience’ for so many, persists.

The much vaunted 1882 elite punters are seething at dismally cheap way they’ve been treated.

This was described verbally to customers as being a legacy deal, an inscription in an actual brick, within an actual brick wall.

Reality? A rather nasty plastic/acrylic very temporary 4 x 6ft board with printed names by outside of the door entrance.

Reality? This isn’t an actual match programme as such. Rather it’s a code to enable one to download a digital version of the real deal.

Reality? Another voucher, so one can enjoy a singular bottle of beer – but you can only have that at… Half Time!

The complimentary snack offering has also magically deteriorated into a voucher for a…bap.

Where dreadful people flow like wine…

Mind you, on an upbeat note – you could rub shoulders with ENIC’s ideal modern fan.

Stop what you’re doing ENIC and back the damn manager.

I received a number of communications personally – so let just me just reiterate that for you, as you clearly missed it the first time.

(Plus there’s the posts on social media)

Just because you had a lot of unprotected sex in the 80’s and never caught anything – it doesn’t mean AIDS was a myth.

And there’s more: The package was sold as access to an exclusive bar, which is very underwhelming, and seems like more of an afterthought IE.

There’s a spare bit of corridor in the corners. What can we do with it? Let’s put a 6ft counter here with a bar on it, and over there we’ll put another 6ft pie counter, and we’ll put a couple of screens up and a soft seat area to sit about 6 people etc. You get my drift.

The extra benefits were a food voucher, a drinks voucher, exchangeable for anything of your choice at any of the outlets, and a complimentary programme. By the CL game, there was no longer a drinks voucher, just a promise of a bottle at half-time, which they ran out of : no longer draft, just a bottle of Heineken or a soft drink.

By the Huddersfield game there was no longer a programme, just an email 48 hours before the game giving access to an online version of the programme for 4 days and then it’s gone.

What if you’re a collector? Got to pay for a hard copy on top for something that was deemed part of the Premium package!!! Need I say more?

Sounds better than what Arsenal offered Club Deck members when Emirates stadium opened. Basically in 2006/7:

£100-120 a pop (depending how many home cup games there were as the ticket covered all competitive Home Games) for behind the goal;

Buy your own programme;

No complimentary food;

One half-time free drink (laid out on big tables so no queuing).

They did adjust their pricing points, making cheaper Club Deck seats cheaper and halfway line ones more expensive, but they insisted on renewals in March, when it was often unclear whether Champions League or Europa League was next season’s fare. That really hacked me off, being expected to pay high prices for an uncertain product offering. PUOFO was the club’s attitude….

Dining experiences could be purchased as a season ticket or prebooked on a game-by-game basis. Choice between three course waitress service (wine extra) or high quality buffet with four dining areas around Club Level (you could access them all from your own entrance). This added around 15-33% to price of a cheaper Premium seat.

You could buy sausage baps too, but quite frankly outside the stadium it was cheaper and just as tasty.

We tended to frequent a local pasta house near H&I tube for lunch most weekend games, whose trade was booming after new stadium opened (we always prebooked as getting a table just turning up was unreliable). £15-20 got you a fine plate of food, a glass of wine and a tea/coffee. And you ate sitting down…..

They installed big screen TVs after a couple of seasons in the bars so you could arrive early and watch earlier games live over a pint or two, very agreeable on cold winter days.

I cannot comment on value for money at new THS, but benchmarked against rivals it appears comparable.

Reality was that majority of purchasers were corporates and increasingly tourists (many Eastern Europeans on holiday in London were attending games). So it was either a freebie or a treat. Not always the most discerning of customers.

I was neither and decided after five years that it was overpriced.

But Club Level is still close to being sold out.

It’s pretty clear. You are commenting on a Tottenham blog and don’t know the name of one of Tottenham’s best players. Work it out yourself

Utterly confused now – what has beer pouring got to do with it?

No. You. I can only assume since I’m a pathetic person on this blog for expressing my opinion, you must think that everything is fine and dandy. Hate to break it to you, it’s not. I’m sure you can find a place to talk about how awesome the beer pouring system is at the new place. I spend my time thinking about losing our 2 center backs & a creative midfielder who hasn’t bothered showing up. Knowing the cost of replacing them. But I’m pathetic so why do you care

Your right. I have no idea who he is cause he hasn’t showed up since the new year. If I was you I’d spend my time making levy “I love you” signs instead of wasting your & my time commenting on this blog

Who the fuck is Erickson? How can you get the name of one of our players so spectacularly wrong. Sums up most of the people commenting on this pathetic blog

Which, in many ways, makes the whole situation worse doesn’t it. if it was uniformly a shit rip off – then ‘shame on us, read the small print sucker’. But the fact it’s not a standard experience across the board…? Poor

As painful as it is to corroborate, this chimes with a discussion i had with an 1882 member last week.

Not sure how many posts will be received on here from Premium members, so I thought I’d set the record straight.

I received a hard copy complimentary programme immediately upon entering the stadium, complimentary food is readily on offer and carried around by waiters, complimentary half-time drinks are readily available and not via voucher, and no-one is counting!

I’ll be there for the spammer game in the south stand to judge for myself how the new stadium is. plan on making sure most of my money goes to bricklayers & Antwerp. I look forward to seeing the new stadium but more concerned about what’s on the pitch. I’m fine with selling Erickson but need to keep at least 1 if not both of toby, verts. We shall see

I noticed the 1882 tickets were some of the last ST’s to be sold so assume a lot bought them as a matter of (no) choice….lets see how that works next season, or certainly season after next if the summer transfer works out to be what we think it will….sell high, buy low

I have to say, that’s poor, and to make matters worse they cant see f-all either with those damn fans in front standing up…

I think the prominent Brexit Party advert is more offensive than the story, to be honest.

Will leave now.
