18-goal star ‘very keen’ on Spurs move, ‘would love to join’ Conte’s side

Tottenham Hotspur were linked with a move for the Leicester City midfielder James Maddison during the summer transfer window.

Now Football Insider claims that the 25-year-old is “very keen” on joining Spurs at the end of the season. Apparently, he “would love to join” the Londoners.

Maddison wants to play for a club in the Champions League and he has informed his friends of his desire to leave the Foxes.

Leicester have had a disappointing campaign so far and the 25-year-old certainly deserves to play at a higher level.

Maddison scored 18 goals and picked up 12 assists across all competitions last season and he would be an excellent signing for Tottenham.

The Londoners have an impressive squad at their disposal but they are lacking in creativity in the final third. Maddison would add goals, assists and quality from set pieces as well.

The 25-year-old is widely regarded as one of the most complete attacking midfielders in the Premier League and he is far from the finished product. A world-class manager like Antonio Conte could improve him further and turn him into a world-class player.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs are prepared to wait until the summer transfer window to secure his services. Alternatively, they could make a move in January as well.

Leicester are going through a rough patch right now and Tottenham could try and take advantage of that situation.
