16 goal contributions this season: Tottenham line up January move for speedster

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko.

According to a report from Sky Sports, the 20-year-old has attracted the attention of a number of clubs including Tottenham, and it remains to be seen whether the North London giants can get a deal done.

He has a contract with the Dutch club until the summer of 2026 and they are under no pressure to sell him just yet. He could cost a premium in the coming months and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to break the bank for him.

The winger has four goals and 12 assists to his name across all competition so far and he is highly rated around Europe. He has all the attributes to develop into a top-class Premier League attacker and a move to Tottenham could accelerate his development.

Players like Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic are currently sidelined with injuries and Spurs need to bring in reinforcements in the wide areas. Bakayoko will add pace, flair and creativity to the Tottenham attack.

The North London outfit have started the season well and they will want to secure Champions League qualification. They need to bring in a couple of quality additions in January in order to sustain their current run of form and signing a talented young winger like Bakayoko could prove to be a wise decision.

A move to the Premier League would be a step up in the Belgian’s career as well and he will look to fulfil his potential with regular football in England.
