Barcelona forward Memphis Depay has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur earlier on in the summer and it seems that the Londoners are still keen on bringing him back to the Premier League.
According to a report from Gazzetta Dello Sport, Juventus are currently in talks with the 28-year-old to sign him on a free transfer and the Dutchman is hoping to terminate his contract with Barcelona through mutual consent.
It will be interesting to see if Juventus can convince the player to sign a contract with them in the next few days. The report from Gazzetta claims that the player is slightly distracted after ‘Fabio Paratici’s call to the Dutchman’. The possibility of returning to the Premier League could be a tempting proposition for the Barcelona player.
Depay has previously played for Manchester United in the Premier League but he had a difficult time at Old Trafford. The Dutchman who scored 13 goals across all competitions last season, will be desperate to prove himself in English football and a move to Spurs could certainly give him that opportunity.
It will be interesting to see where the 28-year-old ends up eventually.
Antonio Conte has an impressive attacking unit at his disposal and Depay is unlikely to be guaranteed regular first-team football at the London club. On the other hand, he is likely to play more often at Juventus the Italian club are more likely to win a major trophy this season.
