Mega rich club identifies Tottenham star as plan B if Liverpool deal falls through

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur captain Heung-min Son continues to draw attention from the Saudi Pro League, with Al Ittihad identifying the South Korean star as a prime target.

According to TEAMtalk, Al Ittihad are exploring alternatives should their high-profile pursuit of Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah fail.

The Jeddah-based club, known for their ambitious transfer strategies, previously made a substantial £150 million bid for Salah, which was ultimately rejected.

Al Ittihad have already made waves in the transfer market, securing the signatures of football luminaries such as Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and Jota.

While they may still revisit their efforts to lure Salah, Son has emerged as a strong alternative in their quest to bolster their squad.

Son has been instrumental for Tottenham, particularly last season, where he finished as the club’s top scorer with 17 goals and provided 10 assists in 35 Premier League appearances.

His departure would represent a significant shift for Spurs, who rely heavily on his offensive prowess.

Currently in the final year of his contract, which expires next June, Son’s future at Tottenham remains uncertain despite ongoing discussions about a possible extension.

His potential move to the Middle East would cause a major shakeup for the North London club.

In the event of Son’s departure, Tottenham’s recent loan signing, Timo Werner, could be positioned to take on a more prominent role on the left wing.

However, Spurs would face a challenging transition, specially after losing star striker Harry Kane last summer.

Tottenham’s decisions during this transfer period will be crucial as they aim to strengthen their squad and retain key players amid mounting interest from major clubs.
