Poch said: “We cannot even think about Chelsea, because we have to win against Watford.

If we don’t win against Watford then that would be a problem.

So the Watford game is the most important – firstly because it’s the first match, but then also because we have to make sure we either gain ground, or don’t lose any more ground, on everyone else.

We know it will be a tough game against Watford, a well-organised side who can cause a lot of problems and play well at home.

So we have to keep focused and concentrated and make sure we produce a good performance.”

Watford are eminently beatable and I stand by my initial diagnosis, we really should thump them.

Pontificating about Chelsea is futile if we can’t metaphorically kick Watford’s teeth down their throat.

WATFORD SPARE?

A decent chap , is in need of a ticket for the Hornet’s game lads. If anyone can oblige with some face value magic, that would be a wonderful thing.

A decade into this, the business we’ve chosen, and it’s gently spiralled into something that has nothing to do with business (one for Ron).

Even I have been touched by the camaraderie that has emerged not only in this awful place, but in real life.

Some rather decent people have stumbled upon each other and that is a good thing.

Happy New Year where you are.
