Will Her Words Come Back To Haunt Her?

Donna Cullen’s plea to Brent Council’s planning committee to allow Spurs focused upon the need for a super sized stadium to accommodate

“Our new stadium will have 61,000 — it will be full at 61k. Wembley is 90,000, at 51,000 it will be a half-empty stadium,” Cullen told the committee.

“We had an exhaustive look at venues around the whole of the UK but London was our preferred option. On other venues, it came down to size.

“It is well publicised that we went for the Olympic Stadium in Stratford. Given what has happened there since, our plan was the right one. We looked at MK Dons’ Stadium.”

I’m not sure what will be worse, 51,000 fans watching us bumble about at Wembley, or having to read the biweekly reports how we failed to fill all 90,000 seats as we bumble about at Wembley.

Ms. Cullen’s dig at Olympic Stadium fiasco is frankly laughable, given THFC’s plan was to demolish the existing structure …so all the nonsense that West Ham are enduring would never have happened to Tottenham.

Sustaining ticket sales at Wembley is a task I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

The 27 games figure matches the number of times that we played at The Lane last season in all competitions.

This in itself will call for THFC to construct contingency plans in the unlikely event Spurs do better in a cup competition next season.
