Why The Sun Made It All Up

By The Boy -

I won’t spend long on this.

Some of you may have noticed that I’ve not even referenced some of the previous mumbling about Real Madrid swooping for Dele Alli that was recently creeping about the place.

The Sun’s Phil Cadden has concocted this ‘Man City & Man Utd go head to head for Bonzo and Rose’ tale simply to fit a vaguely credible template.

Now I could get thrown out of the Magice Circle for this next bit. So you can read it, but mustn’t tell anyone else what I said.

Sex and disaster sell. You can’t buy a click this saturated marketplace with ‘So and so determined to push on for a top four finish’.

The mundane, the everyday, indeed the past is of no commercial interest to anyone.

Do you want to know how much a modest selling book on Spurs would earn you? You’d make more on the dole. I’m entirely serious.

Cadden has a remit to fulfil and this, this ticks lots of boxes.

So this is written from the perspective of a scared/ emotionally wounded fan? Not really.

I don’t believe Bonzo and Rose are leaving Spurs anytime soon because they everything about them and a good few others on our books positively ooze that institutionalised happy vibe.

We’ve all worked with someone who had been with the company forever, was going to die a company man. We’ve all seen The Shawshank Redemption and felt that moment of sadness when seeing ‘Brooks was here’ carved into the beam.

Levy doesn’t recruit nasty, truly ambitious types. In fact, those guys don’t want to play for us (hello Willian, how’s it going, petal?).

The moral of the story? Don’t let it get to you, unless you’re more than a little bit thick. In which instance, get very, very angry!
