What’s The Deal With Hugo Lloris, Then?

By The Boy -

Looking at comments made during and after the game  there was a fair amount of venting aimed at our glorious goalie.

Big game choker, clown, and many variants of ‘ffs’ greeted what wasn’t a great performance. Which is somewhat of an understatement given that he watched the ball whistle passed him four times.

Hugo Lloris said:   “We knew before that this game can have maybe an impact for the rest of the season,” Lloris said. “But you know, in football you need to believe because everything is possible. And we don’t know what will happen in the next few weeks.

“They are human and that’s the case for us. The only thing that we can do is keep working hard, keep believing and playing the same way that we play in the last few weeks.”

“But we try to make a good balance. In the way we play, we try to push, try to get everything in offside in the way we play. But it was not enough. In football there is always a part of luck.

“I’m still thinking that after that game. Because we tried our best but unfortunately they were more clinical than us.”

Lloris can be utterly infuriating, but I think that’s true of all goalkeepers. Joe Hart was Manchester City’s top man, he’s now serving coffees in an Italian Internet cafe. Paul Robinson was England’s number one, Robbo’s now working the pubs and clubs of Lancashire as a Stan Laurel tribute act.

Do you want to throttle Lloris, or do you agree with me that that good and bad simply comes with the goalkeeping territory?
