Tottenham have won nine of their most recent 11 Premier League home games, drawing the other two, so it is little wonder that they start as overwhelming 76% favourites for victory in the eyes of the Kickoff predictive algorithm against a Huddersfield side who have lost nine times in 13 top-flight trips of late.

Lloris (C), Aurier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Davies, Dier, Dembele, Eriksen, Dele, Son, Kane.

Last Season’s Score
Spurs have not played host to the Terriers in the league since enjoying a thumping 4-1 success back in August 1971, though the comfortable 4-0 win that the North London outfit enjoyed in the reverse fixture back in September suggests that the Yorkshire outfit could be in for another tricky afternoon.

If you want to add this result to your accumulator, then head over to the KickOFF Acca Smacker accumulator predictions here.

Team News For Tottenham Hotspur
Mauricio Pochettino will have half an eye on the upcoming Champions League clash with Juventus, so he may decide not to risk Jan Vertonghen as he makes his way back from the ankle injury that has kept him out of recent games.

Team News For Huddersfield Town
Philip Billing should return from illness to challenge for a place in midfield, though Aaron Mooy is expected to remain unavailable to David Wagner with a knee problem.

First Goal Scorer Betting Predictions
Harry Kane (27% chance) boasts 12 goals in his previous ten Premier League appearances, so the England international starts as a firm favourite to open the scoring against these opponents for what would be the second time this season.

This clash will take place at Wembley Stadium at 3:00pm on Saturday 3rd March. Highlights will be shown on Match of the Day later that evening at 10:30pm.

    Hi Spurs fans,
Just back in from a trip to Wem-ber-ley. The ground was dressed in its Tottenham finest and hearing ‘Come on You Spurs’ and ‘Oh, Mousa Dembele’ sung by so many Tottenham voices was pretty lovely, I must say.

The game itself was something rather amazing to behold: a dullish, efficient victory with a few ra-ra back heels and two well-taken Son finishes. Kane was man marked and still managed to make a half a yard of space to arrow that cross in for Son (who bust a gut to get there).

Our defence looks organised. Jan is a superstar. Dier and Dembers were good in midfield. It felt the team wanted to win and also to contain themselves and save energy and not risk injury for Wednesday.

The crowd – and me, really – wanted more. Wanted them to get more goals, but, bloody hell our boys conserved themselves and actually played a smart game.

It was so cold there and I reckon there were over 70,000 of us perishing. Thank goodness there’s a Prezzos nearby, so we could warm up and see happy Spurs families everywhere. It was a bit like being in a Spurs theme park – SpursWorld or something. My first Spurs game since meeting up with you all for Swansea in 2016.
    COYS!

I did once as a kid to play footy in the park. For one reason to make my mates larf as they would never expect. But also to prove to myself they mean nothing to me. I did almost throw up when I got back in 😂 I was about 13 or 14. It was that horrible yellow away kit with splashes of blue. My mates who were mostly gooners did piss themselves.

      • Sexy Beast March 3, 2018 at 10:26 pm

I don’t think it will take long at all, it will feel like home straight away if for no other reason than the atmosphere should be absolutely electric for that first game. The players should have plenty of training sessions on the pitch, the coach journey ending on Tottenham High Road not Facky Wembley, no sell out with 20,000 empty reds seats cos the fans can’t be arsed to turn up, need i go on?

        • AntSpurs March 3, 2018 at 10:34 pm

Agree. They’ll be camping out there everyday I’d imagine, to eat some cheese, drink some fine wine, to train, for team talks, to wank, to shag, use the loos (whatever) , to become familiar before even kicking a ball. After Wembley this will be a doddle.

When Son is on his game as he was today,he must be a nightmare to play against ,non stop threat and always running at defenders.
He made a huge difference today.

As for Dele. Hmm. I’ve defended and supported him a lot and it’s true he got an assist but he lost possession so many times it was frightening.
I’m not sure what he’s trying to do and I don’t think he knows either, he just seems listless and sadly out of sorts.

Maybe a bit of time spent on the bench will rejuvenate him.

    • SpurAndy 🍒π March 3, 2018 at 8:10 pm

Tend to agree big D. Think he’s still worth his place, the pass for the first goal shows his awareness and value. The kid clearly has massive talent but there’s frustration of his inability to just make the simple pass at times. When he’s surrounded he might beat the first man but instead of laying it off he tries to take on others. Overall I still think he’s worth his place as he constantly closes down oppo players and will make the superb assist like he did today as well as picking up goals, admittedly not of late though.

Missed the game because my wifi went bang. All up and running again. Will watch the match later. Sounds as though it was a stroll in the park.

    • gloster1861 March 3, 2018 at 7:01 pm

You must see Kane’s cross for the second goal. Total class. Best assist of the season?

      • caveman March 3, 2018 at 7:07 pm

        Looking forward to it Glos.

We’re top of the table on 2018 points. Steaming it in fact. Surely that’s worth something shiny?

  • melcyid March 3, 2018 at 6:19 pm

son has been shocked into upping his game since moura has come along. he was riding his tackles just like him and passing and running at defenders. both on the pitch will give defenders nightmares

The two horsemen of the acropolis.

  • A waddle and a fork March 3, 2018 at 6:13 pm

Alli not really showing any signs of breaking out of his personally mediocre season – he’s not scoring and seems q listless. He’s also widely unliked. Hope things change for him. Lamella also showed why he will be moved on. Too many touches always on the ball. Effort with no end product. Can’t wait til wed.

Any reasons to be optimistic, mate?

        Nope we’re doomed.

    • UnkleTaff March 3, 2018 at 6:17 pm

Yup. And he completely shinned that through ball that led to the opening goal.

  • UnkleTaff March 3, 2018 at 6:10 pm

Apparently this is the best run of results we’ve had since 1967.

    Crikey.

    • JackDLad March 3, 2018 at 5:41 pm

Is he going to Real now with the rest of the lads in the summer I wonder? Will look at the papers tomorrow!

      • AntSpurs March 3, 2018 at 5:46 pm

He’s off to Liverpool with Dele and Eriksen.

        • JackDLad March 3, 2018 at 5:48 pm

Glad you cleared that up for me Ants, would have kept me up all night with worry! LOL. We don’t want Real getting to strong!

          • AntSpurs March 3, 2018 at 6:12 pm

No troubles Jack. Its really not worth paying attention to that shite, I see it as a compliment and also really funny when pundits can’t admit that Spurs are a great team. The more we win the more stoopid they look. Actually I quite fancy a bourbon and coke. You a fan of the comedian, the tipple or just a bit of a lad?

            • JackDLad March 3, 2018 at 7:39 pm

Just a bit of a lad, like the comic as well!

That’s his foot, not butt 🤪

    • gloster1861 March 3, 2018 at 5:53 pm

Thing with Son is he only has two settings:

      1. Shit hot
      2. Stone cold.

Fortunately he is more 1. than 2.

  • gloster1861 March 3, 2018 at 5:35 pm

3 points banked. On a grey, dank, miserably cold day they got the job done and two goals meant the crowd didn’t have squeaky bums.

Didn’t have to get out of second gear for the last half hour and Verts is back with 90 minutes under his belt. Son looked lively, Moura first PL game.

    It’s all good.

  • Mad Carew March 3, 2018 at 5:34 pm

Awful commentator, already reasoning what will happen when Liverpool score the first goal.

    • 89Spurs 👁 March 3, 2018 at 6:00 pm

Have yet to find a good one, they are all the same.

  • Urbane Sturgeon March 3, 2018 at 5:22 pm

I think the lads had to work very hard to create decent chances today, but quality balls into the box and 2 very classy finishes did the job. We’ve struggled on occasion against a tight back line this season so not a stroll for me, we just made it look a bit like a stroll.

Thought Aurier looked solid enough but needs to drop the half dozen reckless short passes per game. Davies had one of his kosher matches. Sanchez was Toby Story 2. Verts was Verts. Dele got away with it, again. Kane’s still a tad off his best form but displayed his selfless side to wonderful effect. Son showed why he’s my favourite player this season so far. No one really had a duff game.

Go on the Back to the Form we should have been in from the Offs!
