Who needs an overpriced sick note when our Academy is jam packed with superior talent that will work for food?!

Luke Amos is probably worth £20million, Samuel Shahoua has to be worth £30million and Marcus Edward’s £40million valuation was only made last week by a Vital Spurs reader called PhillipCOYS91.

21 goals, 18 assists, 204 chances created 106 tackles, 327 take-ons completed in just 150 games may sound good on paper, but ask yourself how much £15million really is?

The club only made a pre tax profit of £12million in 2014/15.

Money spent on players may as well be set fire to.

Ross told the CFC fans:

“I’m overwhelmed, I’m looking forward to it and I’m really excited to get started,” Barkley told Chelsea’s official website. To be given a fresh start at a new club like Chelsea, it’s unbelievable for me.

“I’m looking forward to continuing where I left off at the end of last season and hoping to improve and add more goals to my game.”

This is an extraordinary bit of non-business from Spurs, even by Bald Weirdo’s standards. No depths to the squad – just the good ones and the less good ones and an Academy full of haircuts that aren’t good enough.

Who cares, that’s £15million that can spent on loan repayments, eh?

I agree with H s assessment that “Kane made Kane” the lads focus on personal improvement if incredible. That said all this Poch bashing ian a bit daft isn’t it? He’s turned our defence from laughing stock (25 years worth) to a strength, changed mentality from weak to much stronger and improved a number of players beyond recognition. Sure he’s made some mistakes but we’d be comfortably 8th or below in the table for the last 3 years without him.

    • Legoverlass January 6, 2018 at 3:04 pm

Didn’t he say it was a three year project when he arrived ….. I think in his last reference to this it had conveniently slipped to 5 years… my fear is the seven year itch !

  • Erik January 6, 2018 at 12:58 pm

If Barkley was demanding the same wages he wanted to stay at Everton, it was always going to be a non starter…
The £15m transfer fee is the easy bit…
Chelsea will pay their bench warmers over a hundred grand a week, we won’t.

    • East Stand January 6, 2018 at 2:05 pm

That’s the main point Erik, it’ll be the wages not the fee.

As H points out, we can have HK on 200k a week and a squad made up of average kids to facilitate that and the hope that Poch turd polishes every one into an England player…

  • gloster1861 January 6, 2018 at 12:14 pm

Toby has been the foundation of the top four finishes Poch has enjoyed. He is as important as Harry up front.

    • Legoverlass January 6, 2018 at 12:26 pm

Totally agree. Our best signing in my opinion. He is the absolute shoe in choice for being Captain and the fact he isn’t is a damming indictment of Pooch yet again a s a coach. Totes is a winner he has a winners mentality that frighten some of the opposition and rubs off on our players. When he did his hamstring against Real Madrid I knew that would have a massive impact on the team as a whole. The press speak of attempts to sign a new deal with him now and with Kane. Why now? Probably because our putrid and facile owners will want to issue two statements in the January window announcing two major new signings in Kane and Toby and use that as an excuse for not investing in new players. You can just see Poochs pressers saying how calm he is and how these two new signings are so important.

  • Legoverlass January 6, 2018 at 12:05 pm

Pooch is rapidly losing any credibility. Publishing a behind the scenes book early in the season, continually spouting how fantastic his teams performances are even when everyone can see they are p**s poor at times. Continually playing Sissoko and Dier together both of whom have been toilet all season and with Sissoko since he joined and before. Never able to unlock teams that park the bus so that every manager knows that if they park the bus against us we are unlikely to be able to break through and they can always nick a goal on the break. His substitutions and timing of substitutions are beyond understanding at times. He must have it written in his book of Thoughts of a Tactical Genius ( his next publication) that no substitutions can be made for tactical reasons before the 70 minute. Maybe Chelsea nicked Barkley off our toes as they get a double whammy effect of denying us a player and 15 million for them is what they will pay for a bench warmer. They have done it before with Willian. I am sure he will have had a medical at Chelsea before signing to I have no doubt he will play against us and probably score whilst we have to watch Sissoko stumbling about and passing backwards at every opportunity. Let me throw this question out there regarding Sissoko. Who made the decision to buy him?Who made the decisions to buy Nocluedo, Nje and Janssen. If it was Levy and Pooch had no input then that makes Pooch a rather large and useless patsy milking his contract. If he did agree then that makes him a rather large and useless coach at assessing a footballers abilities. My view on Pooch is he talks like a Guardiola yet tactically he is no better than a Sam Allardyce. He is probably a good fitness coach and a defensive coach hence he appears able to identify good defenders. He is clueless when it comes to attacking players and attacking tactics. He has a huge ego thinks he is a winner yet has won nothing and his ego gets in the way of what is best at times for the team. Dismantling his wingback formation of Walker and Rose and replacing with Trippier and Davies was a bad mistake for many reasons.

    • gloster1861 January 6, 2018 at 12:09 pm

We’ll definitely go on and win the CL now.

    • Sexy Beast January 6, 2018 at 12:19 pm

So Kanes staggering improvement year on year has zero to do with Pooch? All self learning?

      • Harry Hotspur January 6, 2018 at 12:22 pm

Well, it had zero to do with anyone else prior to Poch.

        • Sexy Beast January 6, 2018 at 12:30 pm

True but Pooch don’t forget did fashion a leaky defence into the best defence two years running whilst we were the top scorers also two years running (i think), we haven’t become a bad team this season but we haven’t played one game at home and we must not forget that. This is the reason for our struggles, if we were at the Lane we would be leading the pack chasing City imo, we haven’t become a bad team anymore than Pooch has become a bad coach.
Wembley is the millstone around our necks, if we achieve top 4 great if we don’t not great but life will go on.
Levy of course continues to hold us back as will the debt going forward.

          • Harry Hotspur January 6, 2018 at 12:35 pm

            You asked about Kane.

Kane was loaned out, neglected and basically given up on. Only when we ran out of all other options did he coincidentally begin to come good.

It’s laughable to even hint at Kane being home grown.
It’s a more convincing argument to suggest that Millwall and Leicester got him on track – which doesn’t make any sense either.

Harry Kane made Harry Kane. Nobody else.

            • Sexy Beast January 6, 2018 at 12:41 pm

Home grown surley means that he came through our acadamy and therefore cost feck all, right up Levy’s street!

              • Harry Hotspur January 6, 2018 at 12:42 pm

I was emphasising the ‘grown’ side.

                Spurs did not ‘grow’ Kane.

      • Legoverlass January 6, 2018 at 12:31 pm

Well if it is down to Pooch and his amazing coaching ability then that coaching ability seems to be in very short supply with most of the other attacking players. I think where Pooch has helped Kane is in his physical fitness. He is leaner and quicker than he was but that is also down to Kane and his work ethic I would suggest. Kane has always been banging in the goals even when he was an academy player long before Pooch was a coach in this country. His problem was he was a yard to slow and a few pounds to heavy when he first got some game time in the EPL.

        • Sexy Beast January 6, 2018 at 12:34 pm

So kudos to Pooch for guiding him to the right path is what you are saying yes?

          • Legoverlass January 6, 2018 at 12:38 pm

I have stated that I believe Pooch is a good fitness coach.Tactically I think he is very limited. Kane has an exceptional mental attitude and desire to learn and improve which aligned with improved fitness has helped him to achieve what he has so far. The fact that Pooch totally relies on him and plays him every game virtually also helps Kane. However one major injury to Kane and its lights out for our season and no top coach would allow his side to be that exposed.

            • Sexy Beast January 6, 2018 at 12:43 pm

Would you admit that buying a good back up is difficult knowing just how good Kane is? Then you have to through into the equation the Levy effect………

So, I took my little Jackshund for her usual early morning walk in the park today where I saw two chaps cuddling up to each other in the bushes.

They had made themselves a delightful little camp next to a wall and we’re snuggled up under a duvet.

There was a heavy frost on the grass and on the bushes and as I looked on enviously at the cosily romantic scene of dawned on me that they may in fact be homeless!

It turns out that they were homeless!

So, I did what any godless humanitarian would do and phoned the police bought them some hot, sweet coffee, a 1/4 bottle of cheap brandy and a bus ticket to South Tottenham’s ‘ethnic’ market.

Actually, I didn’t insist on them going to South Tottenham just so long as they were off my major before I got back from my all-you-can-eat breakfast at my local Toby carvery.

    Sad times.

    • jfdit January 6, 2018 at 11:50 am

Hi Bruxie, Levy makes less & less sense the more we go on, he’s had a 3rd placed finish followed by a solid 2nd place finish, you’d think he’d grab the opportunity by the balls & go for it to try & win the damn league

what does he do? in reality not a lot as usual, we needed a game changer from midfield or up front & he buys a geriatic striker well passed his best from swansea

I’ve got the feeling he bought Sanchez as a Toby replacement as he intends to sell Toby, I’ll be glad when he sells up to lets some other genius have a go

      • Bruxie January 6, 2018 at 11:53 am

        Watcha Jfdit!
        It’s simple business…
Levy isn’t such an investment guru as Lewis thinks.

        • jfdit January 6, 2018 at 11:57 am

I think the cost overuns on the stadium prove this, I’d have insisted on a lump sum all risk contract with Mace – take it or leave it, they would have still taken the contract, he could have put the finishes on P.C sums so any upgrades would be paid for

I see how Man City are setting up now & think it’s finally time for new smarter ‘well heeled’ owners who don’t mind investing their own money

the euro league is coming down the line & the rich clubs are getting ready for it

      • gloster1861 January 6, 2018 at 11:53 am

Yes, same here, Levy would use sticking plasters over a gaping wound.

Trying to keep a thread bare squad barely afloat, instead of strengthening and deepening the squad.

      • Legoverlass January 6, 2018 at 12:18 pm

What can we expect from the people who ran Byrites and even that went bust! Why would they continually fail to take the last few steps needed to secure success on the football pitch? It happened with the Bale Monticello team when we qualified for the CL and brought in Ryan Nelson and Saha . Now in the Kane Ali era it’s the same deal where we need two or three quality players in attacking midfield and upfront and once again we sit in the fence and watch all around us strengthen whilst we do nothing of note. It has to be deliberate and planned and has been said before ENIC need the fans inside so they can cream them for ticket money but they have no interest in running a football club and their only interest is in sweating the land and property assetts. That is why they were looking at several clubs because most clubs have stadiums and land assetts in prime locations. Pooch got the gig because he is a patsy that is prepared to toe the ENIC line to the media and who will not demand the major signings that any top coach would require. So the smokescreen invented is the Academy philosophy and the project storyline. A project which appears to have a very flexible timeline and an Academy project rooted nicely at the bottom end of most of the Academy league tables.

It’s funny how the complete and total collapse of the dross in our Academy isn’t getting much of a mention there days. Another fucking lie/myth/falsehood.

          • jfdit January 6, 2018 at 12:35 pm

Spur’s scouting system is 2nd rate at that level, I seen the scouts at low level games & they’re normally only interested in big athletic players which incidentally make up most of academy, Chelsea & Southampton have the best acadamies by far, Chelsea swoop up huge amounts of youngsters to try & find the best, Les Reed runs the Southampton ones and is a shrewd judge of talent

I’ve also watched the academy team play & their system of play bears no resemblance to how the 1st team play, it’s incoherent as fuck

the top academies around the world have a DNA running through the teams set out by how the 1st team play, Poch should be setting the younger teams up the same as his team

      • MysteriousStranger January 6, 2018 at 12:26 pm

Kane has developed himself into a beast regardless of coaching, I think the best players do, the top players always find their way to the top of the game wherever there from

Yes, he is a credit to himself and his chosen profession. As he’s been with us since 2004 I think we can probably still call him one of our own.

            THIS.

It’s not the transfer fee it’s his wage demands. Lets see what Chelsea are paying him and I bet it’s £150k plus.

  • for the fun of it January 6, 2018 at 11:03 am

chelsea might loan him to us or liverpool as they do, but little first team chance there.

£3.89p for a packet of lavazza coffee. Fair trade my arse co-op.

    • gloster1861 January 6, 2018 at 11:03 am

Come on, a cup of coffee in Costa would set you back that much, more or less.

      • Superspoz 🏆 January 6, 2018 at 11:05 am

200 pound for a small Americano. I refused it when she put milk in it. Apparently I had to ask for a black one.

        • Superspoz 🏆 January 6, 2018 at 11:07 am

          *£2.00

        • gloster1861 January 6, 2018 at 11:11 am

Most people ask for milk from my experience. Most people don’t seem to realise an Americano is a black coffee. Most people are halfwits.

15m for Barkley was a snip though.

    • Freund or Foe January 6, 2018 at 11:06 am

You shoulda got their own-brand fair trade beans. Very nice.

      • Superspoz 🏆 January 6, 2018 at 11:07 am

I had a look but nothing stronger than a no.3.

      • Lilywhite without the ll January 6, 2018 at 11:07 am

Maybe Levy will sell Coys Coffee at the new destination…

  • Accy January 6, 2018 at 10:59 am

I’m pretty pleased we’re not signing Barkley – the main draw of which appeared to be that he is English.

Just hope we don’t end up signing Andre Gomes (Barca reject) instead.

    • Lilywhite without the ll January 6, 2018 at 11:01 am

Why are you not pleased though…I said in a previous blog that we he may not be what we really really want, however he would improve our bench for sure, on his day a good player and bloody cheap, Levy doesn’t even do cheap now, what the next stage down from that..fuck all

    • joel January 6, 2018 at 11:20 am

likelihood is, we were only after barkley because he was affordable. who do you think we’re getting instead?

    • Mattspurs January 6, 2018 at 11:33 am

We can only sign extra players who are English for CL – not sure how our PL allocation is looking?

  • Rob1 January 6, 2018 at 10:56 am

Joe Lewis has a net worth of 5.7 Billion USD. When will the wrinkly old dog wake up and realise he take it with him?

    Dick head.

    • gloster1861 January 6, 2018 at 11:01 am

They’ve never spent a penny of their own money on the club, other than buy the shares.

    • Lilywhite without the ll January 6, 2018 at 11:06 am

We got unlucky with our Billionaire owner I’m afraid…its just an investment and will be left to his family, no ties to Spurs so why would he…as for Levy being a Spurs fan, fuck-off!

      • gloster1861 January 6, 2018 at 11:13 am

Correct. Before investing in Spurs they invested in five other clubs including FC Basel and Glasgow Rangers amongst them. They came into football to make money pure and simple!
