Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been named on a 30-man shortlist to win the 2017 Ballon d’Or.

Kane has enjoyed a superb year, scoring 43 times in 37 appearances for club and country, to help Spurs qualify for the Champions League and England next year’s World Cup.

His two goals as captain secured England successive victories against Slovenia and Lithuania over the international break.

The 24-year-old, the only Englishman in the running for the award, joins the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar on the shortlist.

Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante and Eden Hazard, Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane, Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea are the other Premier League representatives.

The Ballon d’Or, which is judged by a panel of journalists, ran in conjunction with FIFA from 2010 until 2015, when the governing body split to create its own Best Player award.

Ronaldo is favourite to retain the crown, which would see the Real Madrid and Portugal forward pull level with Messi in winning it five times.

The winner will be announced in December.

What the fuck has Harry Kane’s situation got to do with Trevor Steven. Do these ‘has beens’ get paid for interfering with players careers?

Italy v Greece (two Mediterranean countries)

Many have a similar opinion with USA. I have no problem with that. Not convinced they deserve to be there this time around in the first place. They should stamp their place vs Trinidad and Tobago this eve… if they do not, then as far as I am concerned, they do not belong there.

Sorry to ask but can any kind soul on here assist. I’m trying to buy tickets for the Palace game that are now on General Sale. I am a non-member (as I live outside of England and only get to see a game once every 5 or 6 years). The old man is a member but neither of us have been able to work out how to buy my ticket! Do I need to sign up as a One Hotspur member in order to be able to buy this ticket because there just isn’t any option for him to buy one for a guest it seems!

I sware the ticket website was designed by a moron.

    Grateful for any suggestions!

        Nice one. Thanks.

Yes you can only buy one ticket per match as a bronze member. You may need to find another member not attending. When you select your seats on the website you can assign one of the seats to another member number.
Because the ticket will be on the respective member card, it really needs to be someone you trust/they trust to hand over the card.
Hope that is of some help!

Perfect answer. Thank you. Bascially you need to become a member or cheat. Cheers.

Anyhow, we all know England will have a short tenure in Russia. I just hope the fallout won’t affect the Spurs contingent this time. We’re likely to have six in the squad.

Accrington re the point of switching the play and creating space or the free man,yes thats true but often thete is tjis passing across with no thinking. Thinking players might go left or right to change the angles while their players more forward might get inside or outside of their markers to create space too. Of course taking on a man too could have the same effect but in this case losing the ball in key areas can be a disaster.
My point is incessant passing sideways without creating soace or opportunity is nothing and we see so many teams do that including England

    • gloster1861 October 10, 2017 at 1:16 pm

Henderson is the new Ray Wilkins.

      • Stevo1987 October 10, 2017 at 2:31 pm

With half the talent. Ray Wilkins was actually a good player for yanited.

    • ronwol196061🇨🇦 October 10, 2017 at 1:16 pm

That midfielder should be able to thread the needle when the angle is right.
Thats what I saw Onomah do a couple of times in the England under 21 game while his more simple passing was 100%

      • gloster1861 October 10, 2017 at 1:19 pm

Southgate isn’t brave enough to take a risk. He’ll play the usual suspects at the World Cup.

Our only hope are injuries to Henderson, Sterling, Ox Head, Cahill, Welbeck.

        • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? October 10, 2017 at 2:47 pm

✔✔ Henderson isn’t as bad as the others though. His attitude is good at least and most of the time I saw he was trying to pass forward. Just a bit short on ability.

Ronaldo will be on the Ballon d’Or list until they’re sprinkling his ashes off Mount Pico.

Hey don’t knock Walthamstow! Me and Harry born in the same hospital! He endeared himself eternally to me when several years ago I got to chat with him in pre-season and pointed this out. He didn’t miss a beat by saying “Yeah, what a shithole.”

If that was Whipps Cross Hospital then it was Leytonstone E11 from then on he lived, schooled and played for Ridgeway Rovers in Chingford. I believe that although his family still reside in Chingford he has moved to Epping. This is what my kids who live in Chingford tell me, they all support Apurs.

Harry can make the Balon d’Or his by whacking a hat trick in each of our Real ties.

It’s Hurrikane versus the Brylcreme Boy in those games.

Too many Premiere League players when the clock strikes 12 wil turn into pumpkins although I can see both Real Madrid and Barca pushing the envelope to give Harry Kane the baloon. Make him Galactico-ish but can you possibly see Harry with a bun and the prize ballon…and one more thing…….he gets to choose from these…
