Danny Rose really did take an enormous sh*t with his clothes on when he did ‘that’ interview with The Sun.
Not only did lose the respect of his manager/mentor. his teammates and much of the fanbase, he also left the door open for an excellent footballer to take his place in Spurs starting XI.
Ben Davies has grown as a player with every minute of game-time he’s been given.
Without boring you senseless, Davies scores more frequently and creates more assists in fewer appearances than Rose.
After the Huddersfield town game, Poch eagerly told the press:
“For me, he is one of the best full-backs in the Premier League. The performance was fantastic. OK, Harry Kane, but Ben was also one of the best on the pitch in defending and attacking. His energy is fantastic.”
Perhaps Davies was an unlikely hero, but my how things have changed. Tottenham have replaced their wind up toy defenders with more measured men and so far, Spurs don’t appear to have skipped a beat.
The more reliable Davies becomes, the more marginalised Danny Rose’s situation looks.
