Danny Rose really did take an enormous sh*t with his clothes on when he did ‘that’ interview with The Sun.

Not only did lose the respect of his manager/mentor. his teammates and much of the fanbase, he also left the door open for an excellent footballer to take his place in Spurs starting XI.

Ben Davies has grown as a player with every minute of game-time he’s been given.

Without boring you senseless, Davies scores more frequently and creates more assists in fewer appearances than Rose.

After the Huddersfield town game, Poch eagerly told the press:

“For me, he is one of the best full-backs in the Premier League. The performance was fantastic. OK, Harry Kane, but Ben was also one of the best on the pitch in defending and attacking. His energy is fantastic.”

Perhaps Davies was an unlikely hero, but my how things have changed. Tottenham have replaced their wind up toy defenders with more measured men and so far, Spurs don’t appear to have skipped a beat.

The more reliable Davies becomes, the more marginalised Danny Rose’s situation looks.

Fair do’s re the whoscored use of opta data, I did think it was purely compiled from Opta stats (as opposed to incorporating data from opta). It’s still put together followingthe same rule set for all players. MS, sure you enjoyed that, but my point still stands. Anyone who believes Winks is better than Dier, Dele, Eriksen, Dembele, Wanyama or Son need their heads testing. He’s not even better than Sissy yet, otherwise Poch would be picking him to start instead. That’s my point, he’s got a way to go.

If you read the link that I posted earlier https://www.whoscored.com/Explanations you’ll see that WhoScored? incorporate Opta, but then get involved in this weird business which is their own invention:

‘Ratings are based on a unique, comprehensive statistical algorithm, calculated live during the game. There are over 200 raw statistics included in the calculation of a player’’s/team’’s rating, weighted according to their influence within the game.

Every event of importance is taken into account, with a positive or negative effect on ratings weighted in relation to its area on the pitch and its outcome.’

Harry, if Real & Spurs had played exactly the same teams home & away this season, then using whoscored would actually offer a fair comparison, but they play in different leagues & have played completely different opponents, so it’s a moot point.

Has anyone had any cupping done before? I’m in some serious pain on the old shoulder, 8 years of mri scans, physios, acupuncture plus a shit load of money spent privately and still the pain is there. I watched a hillbilly do some Cupping to himself on YouTube and I like his style. Fuck it , I’m doing it.

Cupping? I have, but the tailor taking my inside leg measurement insisted it was standard practice.

My ex had some cupping done on her back. She said that it did her no good but she has no time for anything that would be regarded as alternative

My missus used to teach massage etc and she didn’t rate it, didn’t hate it, but didn’t rate it as a master stroke of health. If your problem is muscular then normal massage, even the electrical impulse machine thingy will help….if it is impingement (muscle on bone), surgery.

have you tried an Oesteopath ?…I visit one every six months or so to keep the skeleton as it should be.. A good one can work wonders with your joints..

Had it done years ago didn’t help at all with bad back.Went to chiropractor who has a cupping style electric device similar to slendertone machine & that is the business πŸ‘

Be very careful who you let lose on your ailments.had a trapped nerve in my neck before last Christmas & went to a recommended osteopath, who tweaked & stretched me to 7 months off work,3 months of physiotherapy & 11 months so far of prescription painkillers

    Wind-up toy…

Mark my words… Spurs have a chance vs Madrid, but Walker’s absence in those matches will be glaring.

    • Arthur brain October 3, 2017 at 7:44 pm

Wasn’t so long ago that everyone preferred Trippier. Bad start to the season then he gets slaughtered although he had just returned from injury. I personally think Trips will be better than Aurier against Madrid going on what I have seen so far

      • Superspoz πŸ† October 3, 2017 at 7:49 pm

The boy has 9 assists already. NINE!!…all away from home btw

It’s going to be my first abroad away game. Have to be honest I’m finding it difficult not to get carried away. Would be amazing if we won.

  • Flynnbob October 3, 2017 at 7:30 pm

On another completely bizarre note ..

Stan wifebeater collymore believes dele should be made England captain, now I can only think he means cpt of the England Firm and not the actual football team

    • Lord Croker October 3, 2017 at 8:09 pm

      Does he drink Stella then?

      • Flynnbob October 3, 2017 at 8:11 pm

No I believe his beverage of choice is a nice cup a Charlie

  • Flynnbob October 3, 2017 at 7:25 pm

You could argue we have 2 of the top 4 lb in the league when fit, The more Davies plays the more I like him , calm, assured scores goals always gives everything . He’s a 8/10 every week and I’m starting to believe more and more that roses days are numbered .

    • Uberyid October 3, 2017 at 7:30 pm

It’s that classic full back for me. Quietly going about his game and putting consistently good performances. Reminds of how I used to look at Dennis Irwin. Jealousy

      • Flynnbob October 3, 2017 at 7:33 pm

Dennis Irwin πŸ‘You hit it the nail . Never was outstanding but his consistency over 15-20yrs was something to be admired .and I believe a very nice bloke to top

  • Uberyid October 3, 2017 at 7:22 pm

Even more positive than the fact Davies is growing in stature and confidence each game is that Rose wil have to play out of his socks to get back in the team and back on someone’s radar. Can only be good to have two great left backs. Rose comes back, plays well and gets his move, we get Β£50M and spend it on the Fulham kid. Well not all of it

I like Ben and not just because he’s got the same name as my son. He’s an excellent player who’s come on leaps and bounds. I do think however some may have forgotten how good Rose is at its been a while since he played and also because of his utterings. Ben is excellent but Rose is outstanding imo.

    • Jacob SPURTS-Mogg πŸ’‹ October 3, 2017 at 7:21 pm

Is Rose the name of your daughter?

      • SpurAndy πŸ’Ο€ October 3, 2017 at 7:27 pm

No I’m pleased to say. That name will never be the same for me after the antics of Mrs West.

        • Jacob SPURTS-Mogg πŸ’‹ October 3, 2017 at 7:29 pm

Prunella Scales?! What did she do?

          • SpurAndy πŸ’Ο€ October 3, 2017 at 7:36 pm

Now there’s a name, Prunella. What were her parents think of? Reminds me of my all time worst school dinner desert, prunes and semolina. Still brings back retching memories.

    • Arthur brain October 3, 2017 at 7:39 pm

      Agreed

  • Superspoz πŸ† October 3, 2017 at 7:09 pm

He’ll need to be at the top of his game at Madrid. He’s a bit suspect when defending crosses into the box but luckily the Los blancos don’t play that way. We’re going to need the stars to align perfectly on the night if we’re to get anything. It’s going to be an exellent game. I’m a bit disappointed with the European away kit tho. I’d prefer the classic all yellow kit. The designers at Nike are useless.

    • Stevo1987 October 3, 2017 at 8:29 pm

Hmm.. Rose is shorter than my mum so don’t think defending crosses is him forte either.

  • Ronan October 3, 2017 at 6:53 pm

It’s not an either / or. Wing back is a very physically demanding position, so the two of them will be needed over the course of the season. Rose and Aurier seem better options against teams that park the bus at Wembley.

  • Jacob SPURTS-Mogg πŸ’‹ October 3, 2017 at 6:49 pm

    Ben Dover’s better.

  • Matt October 3, 2017 at 6:48 pm

Blimey H. Agree with every word. Better individual player. Better team player. Also not injured most of the time, which is a bonus.
