Two Exclusives Within 5 Mins

By The Boy -

For clarity, the 2015/16 has just finished.

The 2016/17 will begin in August as will some destruction of White Hart Lane, which is thought to limit our capacity by some 4000 seats.

Until an announcement is made by the club, for the 2017/18 season we shall be technically homeless.

The first intended season at the rebuilt Lane is 2018/19.

Charles Sale published a few minutes before midnight last night in the Daily Mail that we have agreed Champions Leagues games to hosted at Wembley.

Sales says that this incorporates an an option to play league games at the national stadium too, should our works schedule overrun.

However, Sale also believes that Chelsea are seeking a similar arrangement whilst their ground is redeveloped, which could potentially cause conflict in the 2017/18 season.

Additionally Sale has called Spurs as have being ‘gazumped’ by the Blue Racists in respect of a shirt deal with Nike.

The Chelsea Nike deal is said to be worth £60million.

Meanwhile, over at The Times (£), the well meaning Gary Jacobs publish at a minute past midnight published effectively the same stuff, but adds some numbers to the Nike deal.

“They have agreed a £25 million-a-year deal with Nike to become their shirt manufacturer from 2017 and are aiming to receive the same sum per season from naming rights of their new ground.”

Our existing UA deal is thought to worth £10million pa.

I’m struggling to see how Nike signing up Chelsea, negates them also serving Spurs.

Nike also sponsor Blackburn Rovers, Charlton Athletic, Leyton Orient, Manchester CityPeterborough United. Preston North End, Queens Park Rangers, Southend United, Brighton & Hove Albion.

This is common practise.

Puma for example currently supply Arsenal, Burnley, Cambridge United, Chester, Chesterfield, Colchester United (Until 2015–16 season), Crawley Town, Fleetwood Town, Leicester City, Newcastle United, Plymouth Argyle, Reading, Rotherham United, Wolverhampton Wanderer and Watford.

Did Colchester United really ‘gazump’ Arsenal?

In conclusion, our Nike deal will supposedly be worth significantly less than the Chelsea one. Even with stadium rights thrown in.

Be nice when the truth comes out.
