When asked if there was any contract news, Aldweireld said: “No news that I know of so nothing…zero,” Alderweireld told Sky Sports News before Tottenham’s International Champions Cup clash with Manchester City in Nashville.

Is it time to panic?

About a month ago, Yoby  Told the Belgian press: “I’m still waiting for a contract proposal, but in my mind I’m playing for Spurs next season.”

“There is no talk now, so it’s all rumours, because if there’s no talk there’s no rejection as well. We will see in the future how it will go.”

The truth is that everything goes through Levy. This is how deranged micromanagers operate. There’s nothing to get worked up about because the delay is simply how Levy operates.

Trippier’s contact was enhanced prior to the USA trip purely as a safeguard reaction to the sale of Bonzo. So unless a better right back fell out of the sky, we had a fully paid up right back in place.

Look, is it time to panic?!

Absolutely not.

Selling one regular first XI player right now could be see as careless, but to sell two would be unforgivable. Even Levy wouldn’t be able to squirm his way put of that particular self induced cesspit.

The control freak will sort Toby out when all the boys are back in the barracks.
