This Morning’s Crackerjack ‘Poch Related’ Tweets

By The Boy -

Another sunny day in Punxsutawney.

You want a prediction about the weather? You’re asking the wrong Phil. I’m going to give you a prediction about this winter? It’s going to be cold, it’s going to be dark and it’s going to last you for the rest of your lives!

His Master’s Voice. Ouch…

There appears to be a divide between (again) normal human beings who support Spurs very passionately, and stark raving nutcases who are obsessed with championing the glacial movements of an Investment Company.

Which camp are you in? Well, here’s a quick test. When you go into work of a Monday and your co-worker asks you how Spurs got on, do you reply:

A: Squeezed a one nil against Watford mate, happy enough with that.

B: The last quarter ROI was favourably comparable to provisional forecasts; this was aided by non-football partnerships bearing fruit in overseas markets. Overall the medium term growth expectations are generally positive in a challenging environment.

If you follow Poch’s argument that any new signings must improve the existing squad and be the right kind of player, what have Llorente or Jansen brought to the team?I would suggest nothing apart from a drain on resources. There are plenty who could have done better, although in Llorente’s defence we have never played to his strengths. That doesn’t imply he has been a success,he hasn’t.

If that’s the case then he has no say in who comes in so why keep saying it must be someone who will improve the squad and be better than we have. The excuses have worn thin and he needs to show some cojones and tell us like it is.If he were to be sacked he wouldn’t leave here penniless.

Good stuff because i expect there to be a doubling down on enic apologia once it becomes apparent the stadium isn’t bringing an end to the policy of zero net investment. There will be many wise assurances that enic’s billion pound folly will quickly bring an end to their austerity policy or at least “one day” it will.

There was a moment in the terrible post match presser when Poch said

‘We lost…..obviously’

That sums it up. It’s a helpless situation. I don’t believe that Poch can’t win things. He has over performed with a knackered squad. We have had some incredible victories. Still remaining in Champions league after what we had to do to do that was fantastic. I think that Redknapp would have called out Levy but he was never on those wages. I’ve been on here saying Levy Out since we sold Carrick to Man U. This signalled the intention for their whole tenure. I drove past the new ground the other day and yes it is a cathedral of concrete and glass but it only reflects the world we live in. Looking back at our beloved WHL will be like watching young boys on black and white tv in scarves and wooden spinning clackers. The time has gone. It’s buried. I wish I had been at WHL on that last day. Oligarchs, oil and nasty regime money rules our lives now. Certain people need to stand up. Poch needs to show some cojones and speak out instead of being so defeated…..’obviously’.

It is not that I don’t blame Levy for our nonsensical lack of activity in the transfer market but I wonder if Poch is partly to blame. Don’t tell me that he didn’t approve the signings of either Llorente or Janssen. If we don’t achieve top four with the new stadium opening next season, then there will be a big problem for Levy and ENIC.

We do not have money to spend in the transfer market because Levy is wildly overpaid, rewarded himself a large bonus last year, normally paid in businesses for outperformance, the stadium is 100% over budget and Enic have continued to pay themselves large dividends every year, instead of investing in the playing staff. The only way to bring about any change is hurting ENIC in their pocket which is the only thing they understand which means boycotting home games. There are players that could be signed in this window, Tielemans is going to Leicester and Arsenal are in talks to sign Carrasco, good player, but we have no ambition to win anything, as Eriksen has deduced and he will be off.

Panama Paul

We now find ourselves in a very ironic situation. Poch says that Champs League was targeted for this year (to coincide with the new stadium?) and that he over-achieved by qualifying earlier. The stadium isn’t ready but will be for the 2019/2020 season so we need a top 4 finish THIS year (as per Poch’s original timetable) but it is anything but nailed on. The one year it absolutely has to happen and it very well might not. Bugger.

If I recall from H’s graphic yesterday,Levy pays himself more than twice his nearest rival as a bonus.WHY?
He’s overseen a vanity project that has overrun by 100% and invested nothing in the playing squad. In any other business that would probably result in the sack.
Boycotting home games will not impact financially at the moment as season tickets have already been purchaced. However a high percentage of our remaining games are to be televised so we can be shown the empty seats like the arse last season.
If the season ends up trophyless as appears extremely likely then next season’s ticket sales will be interesting.Levy’s vanity project could start to unravel. You will be able to buy NFL junk though.

What exactly is doing it the right way anyway?! Go and ask a rent boy if he’s bothered how they did it when they won all the trophies they did. Or a city fan now. Fans are fans of a club and want to see it win. And I’m pretty sure we would have done with even 2 quality players added without selling the quality we already have. The levy gang can stick the moral high ground up their exhaust I want to see spurs win trophies

I see a demand was issued to you on the last blog to just shut up about enic because nobody is going to pay them what they want to go away.

I hope H you are not cowed into not following this advice. To impose self-censorship and clamp down on any anti-enic dissent would simply mean passive acceptance that spurs can only add good players by selling better ones and treating zero net investment as a permanent fact of nature.

I am sure even the entity who demanded that you shut up knows deep down that it is really not a fact of nature. Rather it is a very deliberate austerity policy, enacted long ago by the enic tape worm to benefit only itself. The best these billionaire “investors” could realistically have hoped for when hatching this austerity policy was passive acceptance by the bewildered herd. So they must have been astonished and hugely encouraged to see the grift being angrily defended by large numbers of spurs fans .. celebrated even as the hallmark of “a well-run club” that is “doing it the right way.”

The reality is the grifters have never been put under any pressure by spurs fans to achieve the glory and honours that used to be associated with THFC .The glory glory days of the Pathe news era are never going to return by celebrating the permanent austerity of the English National Investment Company. The enic tape worm must be made to feel deeply uncomfortable and face intense pressure to emulate the straightforward, football-success oriented model of Liverpool’s owners. Otherwise nothing is going to change for poch and this team, except for the worse.
Caving in to the predictable angry honks of sea lions or the slap of a seal’s flipper is something that would benefit only the parasitic tape worm, not spurs.
Please stay right on their ass.

I have mates that support United (and actually live in Manchester) that openly would rather keep Ole than get Poch. Many simply say he is full of excuses and will never win anything as after openly deriding trophies how is he supposed to pump up players to the right level for a final.

Lets say we reached a cup final and a few days later we have a league game that if we lose we will come 5th…how does he convince players to take the final seriously? Would he even take it seriously?

What if the cup game was after the league game? Does he risk every important player for the league game? What if said final was the CL and the league game was a hard but winnable one? I really cant see how being open with the “cups don’t matter” attitude will help anyone.

Anyone who wants Poch out needs to consider several key facts.

1. We would not be in the Champions League without him as our spending levels equate to about 8th position in the league.

2. ENIC/Levy aren’t going to leave and we have seen how royally they have fucked up in the past. A good example was appointing Ramos and Comolli, winning the League Cup in 08, then that summer selling the team off and the team plunging towards relegation the following season.

3. Poch is the only hope of stability and dignity being maintained under these clowns, as no other manager could do what he’s done under their constraints.

4. Did you enjoy playing against and beating Real Madrid or not?
