Alle, Bonzo, Rose, Onomah, Lamela, Toby, Trippier, Eriksen, Wimmer, Wanyama, Dier, Sissy, Son, Kane, Vinny and N’Cluedo are all contracted until 2020 and beyond.
Only Lloris, Vorm, Verts, Davies and Carrol are on shorter deals.
This achieves a number of things.
The ‘on the books’ market value of our squad has effectively been ring fenced.
Anyone wishing to poach a Spurs player will have to pay through the nose in order to do so.
Given the volatile times we are venturing upon, this is something that I genuinely applaud Levy for doing.
This is not simply ‘fulfilling his brief’ (for which he is paid handsomely, despite frankly dull results), this is a proactive move that should significantly abet our chances of surviving the next few seasons.
