Home » The Loan Arranger

Alan Nixon in today’s Mirror adds fuel to the fire that Adebayor could spared his development squad training blushes by being loaned out to QPR.

A loan move to Arry Redschnapps probably makes lots of sense. It puts Ade squarely where many of us would like to see him, forced to actually play football in return for his astronomical financial compensation. Since I don’t know when, he’s been lavishly compensated from simply existing.

Putting him into train with the Tottenham youth, might not be quite as great an idea as perhaps first it seemed. I’ve no insight into the way Adebayor’s mind works, other than he in his vocabulary he clearly doesn’t have a word or phrase to suffciently convey the urgency of ‘mañana.’

But could he be trusted to earn a passage back to the first squad, or might he become divisive; start muttering unkindnesses about the club in the youngsters ears?

Who knows. What we do know for certain, is that if QPR only paid a pound a week towards his wages then that’s a pound into the coffers and not one going out. Also, whatever he got up to in the Championship would be revealing. One way or another.

If Andre Villas-Boas is planning such a move, then I look forward to the next Steffan Freund interview, to see if he calls André ‘Kemosabe.’
