This weekend’s list throws up some genuinely interesting fixtures. Whilst a few games won’t be for the purist, very few of them will fail to have an impact.

The early game of course is City vs the Arse. Trying to work out the implications of this, and indeed just about any of the games involving all of the top 8 sides, is akin to an Estate Agent trying to predict how the sales of 16 different properties in a chain, might pan out.

Pundits warn of City’s poor home away form and Arsenal’s sterling midfield. My take is a 2.5 goals or more home win.

The Blue Racists host “plucky” Palace. A draw would be a fab, borderline coupon buster. Let’s opt for that, then. Draw.

Newcastle vs Southampton will be interesting. Two nuisances will battle it out to see who really is a potentially bigger pain in the bottom to in the league’s upper tier.  A draw is enticing, but …I want Saints to triumph. Away win.

West Ham host Sunderland. An away win would be nothing shy of sensational. Pre-match interviews from David Gold and Fat Sam have been heart warmingly strained. Colour me away win.

Villa vs Man Utd just makes me think of that Bugs Bunny cartoon, where Elmer Fudd walks, gun loaded, past a wooden sign bearing the wording “OPEN SEASON.”  Draw.

Us vs Liverpool? We’ll do that in the morning.
