The Laughable Berahino Bid Details

By The Boy -

Given Daniel Levy’s latest fiasco, in a what has become a conveyor belt of fiascos, there is plenty to cover in the forthcoming days.

I suggest we take a leaf out of Swiss Pochettino’s book here, and much like when making love to a beautiful lady, we pace ourselves.

This is a great opportunity to evaluate the entire football landscape before us, as ravaged and derelict as it is in places.

Last things first and the bid for Berahino.

As regular readers will be aware, this blog got a little bit ugly the other day, in regards to Jeremy Peace’s statements.

I and few other sane and balanced people took the guy seriously.

Peace made three very public announcements that he didn’t want to sell, was hardly ambiguous behaviour.

However, 2 or 3 screamy readers were adamant that their ability to read between the lines, translate the hidden codes and generally act like spoilt children was the way and the light.

The truth was, they were emphatically wrong in every single respect.

Gladys reveals that the final bid was just shy of a paltry £7million up front. The rest of any total fee was to be instalments and add-ons.

The final grand total valuation is not known.

If you were the chairman of West Brom, you’d be quite within your rights to demand that the instalments and add-ons were delivered at an improved rate. Otherwise you could value the player at £100million but not be alive to collect the last £75million if the terms were so fragmented.

Glad also adds that this business of a third and a fourth bid were entirely in the imagination of the press.

By the time the third and final statement had been issued by Peace, this particular duck was already dead.

Berahino, I understand, is using the old ‘gentleman’s agreement’ defense for his Twitter outrage.

According to him, he was verbally assured he could leave once 2 strikers were signed.

As per usual, the club have no record of this and as the toys flew from Saido’s pram, he published the Tweet.

For Levy? Of course there’s lots more to be said.

I’m compiling his charge sheet right now.

Are you interested in assisting protests against Daniel Levy?
No in stadia or on pitch activity and no criminal damage.
Other than that, the gloves are off!
