What we witnessed here was Pochettino proving for the umpteenth time that he’s as tactically canny as Field Marshal Douglas Haig.

There is a greater, fundamentally damning flaw at play though; namely the inadequate personnel at his disposal.

This of course is a situation entirely of his own creation, due to mind numbing practise whereby he and Levy are incessantly hoping that the existing players will somehow manage to ‘wing it’.

Picking my starting XI before the game, I passed comment on two key elements. Boy was I right.

4231 was a recipe for disaster against Klopp’s 433. This idiocy combined with some truly inept performances from both Dier and Mousa left us with welcome mat where our centre midfield ought to have been.

The fault ultimately lies within the current culture of the club, this pretence we’re going places based upon absolutely naff all is soul destroying. Spurs are all wrap and no gift,

Pochettino will never be achieve anything worth a damn until he demands the support of a proper scouting network and that Levy buys him at least another couple of ready to go core players. Not cheapo garbage like No’Cluedo and Clinton Cards but real footballers that real football clubs would also covet.

Worse yet, we had to endure yet another bout of delusional waltzing about from Harry Kane. This tit genuinely believes his own hype and thinks that he’s going to captain Spurs and England. He couldn’t captain a packet of fish finger. I’ve lost count of the games this term that he’s shuffled about waiting for that one ball he can latch into and shoot with.

This was a repeat of the guano we served up at Sunderland which so many of you dumb dumbs made excuses for. Except for all Liverpool’s dificencies, they sure as hell aren’t Sunderland.

So what will it be today Flat Earthers? Did Liverpool park the bus, was it a bad day at the office, or are the Scousers in fact suddenly mounting a title challenge from the inside rail?

Have a long hard look at yourselves and ask ‘why am I continually making excuses for this dysfunctional mess?’

Wheres the part of your brain that does logic? Or are you telling me this is simply ‘god’s will’?

Poch’s crowning glory was to stem the blood loss by inflicting a diamond of some construction into the 442 which only served to stodge the game up for everyone, opposed to actively advantage us at all.

I derive no pleasure from pointing out the bleeding obvious, I can’t believe it makes for particularly nourishing reading.

The Europa Cup looms and beyond that all I can see on the horizon are are full season of endless cold trudges to and from the unforgiving public toilet that is Wembley.
