Harry Kane has become the 27th player to reach 100 Premier League goals after his late penalty in Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against Liverpool.

Kane had one spot-kick, controversially awarded after he went over Loris Karius’ challenge, saved by the German keeper but tucked away a second in stoppage time to salvage a point and reach three figures.

Here, Press Association Sport takes a statistical look at the England striker’s century.

141 – games taken for Kane to reach 100 goals – the second-fastest ever, behind former England striker Alan Shearer.

Fastest players to 100 Premier League goals

97 – Teddy Sheringham previously held Tottenham’s Premier League goalscoring record. His goals came in 236 games, with Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe scoring 91 apiece for Spurs in 238 and 276 respectively.

20 – Kane has passed 20 Premier League goals for the fourth consecutive Premier League season, a feat only previously achieved by Shearer, between 1993 and 1997, and Thierry Henry for five seasons between 2001 and 2006.

39 – he broke Shearer’s record for Premier League goals in a calendar year with his tally in 2017. Shearer scored 36 in 1995.

25 – Kane has scored against 25 different Premier League opponents, including every current top-flight team aside from this season’s newcomers Brighton – he added Huddersfield to his list with a brace in September.

9 – Leicester are his favourite Premier League opponents, with nine goals in six games.

52 – number of Kane’s goals scored away compared to 48 at home. Ryan Giggs is the only other Premier League centurion to score more goals away than at home (59 out of 109).

0 – Premier League goals in the month of August in Kane’s career to date.

    Colossal game.
Moura might be on the bench for Newport. Poch hasn’t exactly been over the moon about his new signing has he? Saying he isn’t at full match fitness after only six sub appearances for PSG seems odd as he must be training all that time.
Was he a Poch pick or a Levy ‘reduced to clear’ buy?

Surely Moura has got to play against Newport. The scum slotted abangyourmum and midgetforfun straight in to their first eleven and to be honest they look better without the poisoned dwarf Sanchez. We will have to be at our very best on Saturday as they will see this as an opportunity to use us as a springboard to turn their season around and go on a run for CL football. If we beat them then they are confined to the waste bin of the Wafa cup again and we are right in the mix with Chelsea imploding

It’ll be time for ‘Tall stories with Timmy’ soon…
    Along the lines of:-
“I remember speaking to Harry when he was 19 and telling him he had everything in his locker, he just needed to make a few tweaks. I took him under my wing a bit, told him he could be a star. I felt like I wanted to give something back, ya know? When I gave him his opportunity in the first team, the rest is history…”

‘Tall Tales with Timmy’ has a better ring to it.
In tribute to this man’s role at Spurs, I think it should be ‘Tim’s Tunnel’ Club at the new place.

    • Gus February 6, 2018 at 11:20 am

  • Gus February 6, 2018 at 10:51 am

Just watched the Liverpool game. They bustled us and Dier generously provided Salah with the go ahead goal. We basically controlled the last 40 minutes and had chances to put them away. If you offered Victor 100 quid to score that goal again he doesn’t make it, but I’m glad he did. The first pen was definitely deserved but that might be the worst I’ve ever seen Harry hit, he just looked a little tentative. They should have won the game when Salah waltzed through our defence and Hugo failed to smother him as he did against yanited, that pen was one of those that the football gods gave us to compensate for past wrongs. Considering we’ve won 1 game from our last 23 at Anfield a point and a win vs the bindippers isn’t bad

    • Accy February 6, 2018 at 11:09 am

The post-match talking point should have been Wanyama’s goal. Instead, Klopp threw his toys out the pram and the discussion was about a penalty that was given that some say wasn’t a penalty (although it was a penalty) that wasn’t even scored.

      • gloster1861 February 6, 2018 at 11:15 am

Spot on. Whining about a penalty that was saved is pathetic. It’s all about distracting attention from Liverpool folding in the second half. Looked like a one man team, Salah. I didn’t even notice Firminio after the break.

        • Gus February 6, 2018 at 11:19 am

Klopp deflecting from the fact that the team he built has a shitty defense

        • MysteriousStranger February 6, 2018 at 11:31 am

Had a Liverpool fan mate moaning about Lamela being offside for the second pen too, over a day later. After his original complaint that he had dived/wasn’t touched had been debunked. Sure, he was marginally off. By an inch or two. I couldn’t believe that he was STILL whining about the decision so long afterwards. Get over it, FFS!

Managed to see most of the match last night, the one where Spurs went to Liverpool and stole, not only the hubcaps but the rims off the Liverpool bus.

Not sure how Liverpool managed to finish the game with 11 players. It seemed that Dembele and Davies were especially targeted, as well as Eric “you’re the weakest link” Dier. Jonathan Moss almost forgot where he was and looked like he was going to give young Alexander-Arnold a red for one of his tackles on Davies. Have to say that

Jerkin McGerkin looks like Brenda Rogers MkII. Too much Shock & Awe in his tactics, which don’t work against teams who can get their heads down and hit them at the right moments. VVD will have his hands full trying to keep their creaky defence together.

Dele Alli, what an embarrassment. Playing him on the left wing is an admission by Poch that he isn’t playing well so he gets put somewhere he can’t do too much damage to us.

The truth be told we had a few good opportunities to actually win the match despite the poor penalty from Kane. Alli and Lamela’s misses were horrible to watch. Wanyama’s effort was a joy to behold. Luckily for the Kop it went in otherwise someone would have had their head taken off (ok, going a little too far but probably somebody would’ve choked on it). Liverpool, too, were wasteful and must be grateful that Mo Salad knows where the net is.

Overall I’m pleased that we recovered to p*ss on the dipper’s chips right at the death (truth be told they seemed intent on going that in the 2nd half) and that Kane has got the ‘100 goals’ monkey off his back. Now, its time to blow Arsenal off the pitch (no sniggering at the back) this weekend.

It’s a shame Conte has had to make it quite so obvious that the wheels are coming off for that lot. Really could’ve done with this one subtly spinning out a few more weeks as they dropped to 6th, rather than getting so obviously spanked by Bournemouth and Watford.

Just going to have to hope they bring in someone clueless who can’t steady the ship.

Tomorrow is the 100 year anniversary of the first women receiving the vote. However, as expected, nearly all commentators get it wrong. The most important group were the Suffragists led by Millicent Fawcett, who were a mass movement who used peaceful methods to make their case. Look her and the group up.
The Suffragettes actually made it harder to make progress by their extreme actions. But being noisy and provoking violence have been remembered better.

He’s one of our own an all.

    Who is, Hartley?

  • Hartley™ February 5, 2018 at 11:05 pm

    Augustus Barren.

    • Jim,Newry Spur. February 5, 2018 at 11:07 pm

      Who does he play for?

      • Hartley™ February 5, 2018 at 11:08 pm

        Us……but only in august.

        • Jim,Newry Spur. February 5, 2018 at 11:09 pm

  • gloster1861 February 5, 2018 at 11:00 pm

Tomorrow is the 100 year anniversary of the first women receiving the vote. However, as expected, nearly all commentators get it wrong. The most important group were the Suffragists led by Millicent Fawcett, who were a mass movement who used peaceful methods to make their case. Look her and the group up.

The Suffragettes actually made it harder to make progress by their extreme actions. But being noisy and provoking violence have been remembered better.

    • Frontwheel 2 February 5, 2018 at 11:02 pm

      Different folks,different strokes,still a way to go.

    • Jim,Newry Spur. February 5, 2018 at 11:02 pm

Get the Suffragists on to Daniel’s case.

    • gloster1861 February 5, 2018 at 11:04 pm

You can expect the gobbie Labour wimmin MPs to laud Pankhurst, but she had very little to do with winning the vote compared to Fawcett who won the admiration and support of many men, rather than pissing them off.

    • Spursy February 5, 2018 at 11:04 pm

      Yay, women! Do it, women!

      • gloster1861 February 5, 2018 at 11:05 pm

But know the real history, not the headline stuff!!

Documentary on R4 this evening about Sylvia Pankhurst, she moved to Ethiopia and opposed The Italian and then British occupation, personal friend of Haile Sellasie, remarkable woman.

      • gloster1861 February 5, 2018 at 11:28 pm

That’s gratitude. We drove the fascists out of Ethiopia.

        Did she grow dreads?

    • TyredMan 🚯 February 5, 2018 at 11:24 pm

It’s not September the 19th is it.
The day Lord Glasgow signed the act, so that women could vote.

Surely it will be hard for the England talisman to resist the interest shown in him by Real Madrid and Spurs will struggle hold onto kane beyond the summer?’

Record for most premier league goals in a 38 game season is 31. Shared by Shearer, Ronaldo and Suarez. In a 42 goal season it’s 34 goals shared by Shearer and Cole.

      • AntSpurs February 5, 2018 at 10:48 pm

I am happy you asked this question as I have been pondering this for a few minutes. I’d say hell go for a similar set up as the first leg.

It’s simple. Start Sissoko / rest Eriksen = struggle.

            • AntSpurs February 5, 2018 at 11:00 pm

We’ll have to rest him at some point. Now is the best time I suppose.

            • ronwol196061🇨🇦 February 6, 2018 at 12:04 am

              Play Kane as #10
              Llorente #9
              Lamela
              Sissoko i/o Dembele with wanyama

          • AntSpurs February 5, 2018 at 10:57 pm

I’d like to see an all out attack, possibly an introduction of Moura (not sure if he’s eligible to play) however I’m thinking he likes to use these games to tinker and test. I think he may want to try again to get Kane and Llorente in the same page.

            • Accy February 5, 2018 at 11:17 pm

It’s funny – I’ve berated Llorente since before he arrived, and yet in the last couple of minutes against the dippers I was really glad to see him on the pitch and in the penalty box – exactly what you need in that sort of game.

Would never play him for a whole 90, mind.

Would love a proper backup to Kane sometime before this Century comes to a close.
