Gladys has no news on the injury or any speculation on Lamela’s brother etc.

‘Lam Lam’ is said to be widely loved inside the club and there’s a real sense of pride and satisfaction in the way he has fought to acclimatise to England and the Premier League. The 24 year old is without doubt one of the gang.

Whilst Erik’s been out injured he’s been working on a lot of the theoretical parts of the game, watching lots of videos and seeing games live.

Lamela is considered as absolutely vital to our future ambitions by Pochettino.

Pochetino wants Lam Lam as our first choice option to play as one of the 2 behind the central forward –  and will also be used in that central striking role when Kane is not playing…

This certainly provides ‘an explanation’ as to why Poch wasn’t panicking about a striker as his plan all along was up-cycle Lamela.

What of Vinny?

There appears to have been ‘some confusion’ over his fitness levels when we bought him.

The Dutchman is positive presence around the training ground and has the total confidence of the coaches, despite not being even in the same realms of fitness as the rest of the Spurs squad when he joined.

Janssen is working on extra sessions of stamina, acceleration, balance and movement in tight spaces.

It is not suggested he was unfit to the point of being unprofessional but even now his levels lag considerably behind the likes of Kane, Rose, Alli and Eriksen.

This is a significant factor in his lack of game time, rather than being unfavoured in general.
