One of our own, our very own has been verbally duffed up by his International coach. Denmark supremo Morten Olsen said:

It is a brutal world, otherwise you have to play at another level. It is not Ajax any more, this is not development.

After so many matches he could pick up the ball and help to control the game. He has not been able to. Therefore, we blame him. He must stand up to the criticism, and he does too.

It is quite something when you have to criticize a player like Christian Eriksen. It should not take place. If it was a player at a lower level, one could say that he had no class. But with Christian Eriksen do not make the mistake. I must be tough and say to him. And he knows it well.”

It’s a positive that this sort of comment gets out into the mainstream press.

Based upon a good few lackluster shifts he’s put in for Spurs, it indicates he may be in need of small kick up the backside. And who better to deliver said shoe to bottom, than a coach that doesn’t have to pick up the emotional pieces directly afterwards.

It’s not that I give a damn about how he plays for the Danes, it’s just that whatever it takes to nudge him into being as good as can be for us, is welcome.

We’ve had flashes of loveliness and some memorable goals. More of that stuff please, and less of the naff corners failing to beat the first man et cetera.
