Spurs XI vs Barcodes?

By The Boy -

This game is all about looking for any indications that Levy might have got away with it. Newcastle United away always has the potential for disaster, so whilst they aren’t very good at playing football, this will prove awkward enough to provide us with some clues.

Rafa’s done well to prize Toon out of the quicksand of the Championship and it may make lots of sense that given the ordeal his squad has been through that he’s opted to stay away from the transfer market. A squad that survives an ordeal together may well benefit from not being tinkered with.

Our lot looked as rough as robbers’ dogs during their preseason games, fitness levels appeared to be all over the place. What would have only been fleeting days on golf courses and nights in Ibiza appeared to have nevertheless taken their toll and one would hope that the boys come flying  out the traps this afternoon.

Judging on yesterday’s eclectic results it might be an idea for Spurs to lay down an immediate marker to anyone thinking that Wembley will be our undoing – and trust me, my precious little Flat Earther troglodytes that’s what other clubs are most definitely thinking – by dishing out a remorseless bludgeoning.

Our first XI viewed without one’s spectacles on and through squinted eyes is none too shoddy. However that’s it and so we need to crack on and not, repeat not find ourselves in search of fresh ideas on the 50 minute mark.
