Spurs Lose Out For The Sake Of £10M

By The Boy -

As per this recent blog Swansea City wanted £45million for Siggy, but Daniel Levy wanted our sell on fee deducted as a discount. We would only go to £35million.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman announced at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon that 27-year-old Iceland international Gylfi Sigurdsson has passed his medical.

“I have seen the doctor and there is no problem,” said Koeman. “Still he needs to sign, but I saw him in the Blue!”

Sigurdsson’s proposed switch has dragged on for most of the summer with Swansea initially valuing their star man at £50million.

But Everton are finally set to secure their number one target to take their summer spending to over £140million.

“We worked a long time to get this deal in, he was one of the key players to bring in,” added Koeman. “We need players who will bring productivity to the team.”

For want of a nail the shoe was lost. For want of a shoe the horse was lost. For want of a horse the rider was lost. For want of a rider the battle was lost. For want of a battle the kingdom was lost. And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.
