Home » Spurs in for Ghaly!

I may be going nuts or I may be the last sane man standing. This morning the press have excelled themselves, even in a week that saw Arry Redschnapps release his Bumper Book Of Bedtime Botch It & Bail Jobs.

They are actually teeing up the English national team up for disaster (before a ball is kicked) with a lead article revisiting the demise of Graham Taylor. “England on the brink brings back memories… ” wails the Mail. No wonder nobody gives a damn anymore.

A bunch of arsebrained hacks waiting for anything vaguely snide to “share” to their ever shrinking audience. I’m genuinely surprised that one of the back pages hasn’t put out an appeal asking readers to step forward if they have want to make a statement about Roy Hodgson in relation to the Yewtree enquiry. Football journalism has always been pretty a bit shoddy, but these days it’s pretty a reprehensible business.

Townsend and Bonzo are tipped to feature tonight. Given the gun somewhat against Roy’s head to play to win, this might be a good opportunity for Andros to do himself some good. England need someone to shake things up and Sir Shootalot could just be the man to do a job.

Tomorrow I’ll have all the goals up that might feature any of our brave boys. It will be interesting to see if Lamela does anything for Argentina who face Peru tonight.

There is one solitary transfer rumour doing the rounds. the name in the frame is Mohamed Saleh of FC Basle, or FC Bar-sil as ODM calls them. £15m winger… is this made up? Who knows. What is funny is that his full name of this Egyptian is actually Mohamed Salah Ghaly.

Hey, if by some miracle The Mail haven’t made this one up and he did sign – at least we’ve already got a song for him.

Mind how you go.
