Spurs Fan Corners Levy After Juve Game

By The Boy -

The most important thing I walked away from the game was that Trippier could be on for a double digit assist figure for next season.

For all the jibber jabber about Bonzo’s pace and the need for a ‘better’ right back than Kieran, I think we’ve already got the right guy in place. Admittedly he’s been flown to Switzerland this morning to have his leg sewn back on, but the boy’s mustard.

Juve were in full friendly mode for which we ought to be grateful, that said it won’t dampen the psychological boost every will get from winning a game a Wembley. Spurs we definitely more interested in winning the match and it would have been relatively brutal had we walked off that pitch with our heads down, yet again.

So is everything alright now? Nothing happened in the 90 minutes of football we got to allay the concerns that were flagged up when the Spurs team was announced.

A ropey starting XI and a bench from the heavily reduced ‘shop soiled’ selection at Ikea. Yes, we have some injuries, but this squad is in urgent need of reinforcements.

As one fan was quick to point out.

There are no two ways about it. It must have felt a tad strange for both teams playing in a stadium that was less than half empty.

The upper tier was clearly never offered for sale. Whoever made the decision to mark seats that weren’t being sold – as sold – went beyond their pay grade. A good many were deluded into posting daft comments online in support of the unsupportable. One clown barked at me ‘well it looks like it’s selling well to me!’

Arriving at a football match to discover you were lied to before a ball has been kicked is like meeting your online dating match for the first time and finding out they’ve not been using their own photo.

Poch needs (if he hasn’t already) to break it to Levy that Sissoko must be shunted, that Lamela may need the basic rules of the game explained to him again after he’s been out for an entire year.

As admirable as it is to see so many academy boys on the list, not one of them is yet Premier League standard. This squad isn’t fit to compete in the Champions League either.

Graham Joyce is right, Poch needs to be backed and that’s all there is too it.
