Positive news from young Gladys who has been pounded pounding the domestic chore beat at Hotspur Way this week. Erik Lamela is fine form and itching to get back to grips with some real training and some real football.

The 25 year old has been fully focused and club staff have identified that the boy’s gained 6lbs of pure muscle over the past few weeks.

‘Lam Lam’ hasn’t played for Spurs since an injury that effected both hips. The injury has kept the Argentine out  since the 2-1 League Cup defeat at Anfield on October 25, 2016.

Glad says that there is still great warmth for Erik at Spurs and that despite his prolonged absence he’s always been one of the keenest players when it’s come to doing community work for the club.

After a year away from competitive football his return is unlikely to make an instant impact so if anyone tells you it’ll be ‘just like a new signing’ they may well be setting you up for disappointment.

Didn’t you previously hint that he was unfit as he had a psych or drug problem?

  • Arthur brain October 2, 2017 at 1:25 pm

He will be just like a new signing! Only he is an old signing that has never left and will take months and months to get back to his average best, but just like a new signing….kinda in an average played for us for 3 and a bit years kinda way.

  • Steve Marks October 2, 2017 at 12:56 pm

    • Nicky Read October 2, 2017 at 3:49 pm

Surely you`ve got one or two of your own players you cant stand, why dont you concentrate on `Stanely` & leave Lamella alone

Shut up nicky you little bitch

  • Pocholosophy October 2, 2017 at 12:39 pm

Well no it would be like a signing, new signings take a period of time to settle in.

  • paul October 2, 2017 at 12:30 pm

I love Coco, he’s never given anything but his all for us, his attitude is fantastic, he’s not without genuine talent and if he can get over this injury, back to full fitness and mature like i think he’s gonna then i think the boy will go on to become a top top player for us. I wish him nothing but the best. And frankly if there was ever a season to give him a bit of time and space to get where we need him to be then this is it. Come January could be just like a new signing, so there.

    • hotspur October 2, 2017 at 2:07 pm

Me too! Good luck to him…

  • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? October 2, 2017 at 12:29 pm

  • Camus October 2, 2017 at 11:59 am

With the Interlull upon us, we’ve got plenty of time to:-

    1) Decide that Mr Muscle is going to win us the title
    2) Sell Dier by fan vote
    3) Argue about Dele. A lot.
    4) Rip into Southgate for being a company man chump with no qualifications for the job.
    5) Say how fantastic Ben Davies was for Wales again.
    6) Laugh at West Ham
    7) Laugh at Palace
    8) Laugh at Liverpool
    9) Wet some pants
    10) Have a couple of Boy Hotspur verbal brawls

    I for one can’t wait.

    • Harry Hotspur October 2, 2017 at 12:00 pm

I’ll have 30 new pence on 10), please, Bob.

Whilst on the Spanish vibe,, Lowrenty reminds me of an old brown Volvo 244DL

  • McG ⚽⚽ October 2, 2017 at 11:45 am

I personally can’t wait to have Mr Muscle back in the side, sounds like he’s working hard. He’ll play in the cups to start with, hopefully we’ll beat the Spammers & he can get some Carabao cup games under his belt. One thing I am certain about Lamela, he will love playing at Wembley, he’s got the attitude…

    • Freund or Foe October 2, 2017 at 11:51 am

Working hard, played hard. Not in that order.

If the Spanish government was never going to accept the vote, then should they really have sent in the masked thugs to brutalise people expressing their freedom to vote and freedom to protest ? why not just let it pass and then disregard the outcome ?
    this will not go away

These were my exact thoughts, why didn’t they simply refuse to recognise or acknowledge the outcome?

Im hoping of course that Lamela will come back with a bang. The team has changed from the time he helped us,and he did. His pressing and tenaciousness without the ball was great when we were allowing players to walk through and the only thing that I felt he lack was good decision making on attack. His flicks and touches were superb but his lack of Hepenetration with the ball was a problem often running into traffic.
He had time to think about his game and maybe things will be different this time. Lamela has great talent, and if he applies himself,he will be a real contributor to our success especially on the attacking side where at times we rely on too few players (Kane mostly) .
He does need some time after getting back…like this whole season.

    • harryabbots October 2, 2017 at 11:50 am

      “Hepenetration”…..bit early for this Ron?

      • Harry Hotspur October 2, 2017 at 11:57 am

Sounds like a does of Herpenes

    • King Paul October 2, 2017 at 4:09 pm

He’s a walking red card waiting to happen. And is terrible at finishing. I’d take Son every day of the week over him (not just on Sondays)

  • Sid Trotter October 2, 2017 at 11:27 am

Lamela did show great form. But the problem with returning players is that they take an age (understandably) to get back to that level. He’ll need 5 games to start impressing again. Do we have the luxury of waiting that long.

    • Terry 2 face October 2, 2017 at 11:57 am

I was at the match at anfied that day, bumped into Jim davison of all people. Cheered us fans up no end with what was an awful match. The fellas still got it, lovely bloke.

    • downgoesfraser October 3, 2017 at 1:45 am

We’ve waited for years lol…what is 5 games?

  • Moniker Levynsky October 2, 2017 at 11:15 am

Drugs ban just about over. About time, he’s needed.

      That’s the one…

      • CoopaTroopa October 2, 2017 at 1:02 pm

Is he going to be as influential now that he’s clean? Kind of explains why he was a bit rubbish for 2 seasons then suddenly got good.

    • King Paul October 2, 2017 at 4:10 pm

I’ve missed him, I hope he returns and plays as well as he did just before he stopped.

    • Aussie in Switzerland October 2, 2017 at 11:35 am

Love his energy….and the mentality when Rose showed why England fail at major tournaments “can we finish in top 4″…..”we can win the whole thing”
