Dele Alli.

Only young.

Broken home.

As good as Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard.

Was simply sublime last season, got all sorts of tricks in his locker.

I was told endlessly that he’s put his intemperate gangsta play behind hind him. I was told that he could buck his pro form this term if he wasn’t selected to play.

When I was a kid Spurs were a bit fancy, yet there was always a slight edge somewhere, a player who was prepared to leave his shoe in. Show that the old fire wasn’t out. You know the names.

Sadly there was also some muck we occasionally had on our books, Michael Brown’s name effortlessly springs to mind.

What I particularly like about Dele Alli’s stamp is you can see the ‘just putting a cigarette’ out twist in one of those angles.

Enjoy, and if your son or daughter plays the game, sit down with them and show this clip to them. Show them how it’s done at the highest level in England.

If my aunty had a cock, blah blah blah.
Deles tackle didnt break kdbโ€™s leg or ankle so can we just move on? The kid is a twat and has lost the goals that justified his place but he isnt the reason we are so shit. Im sorry but it is Winks. Lovely boy (white and clean) but he is shit and a pussy.

Ben Thatcher was always a favourite for me. And don’t forget Yorath.

  • Blanchflower December 17, 2017 at 5:22 pm

Harry Winks. Lovely lad. Not very good. I want him to be good but I have to be honest and he can pass a bit in a foot square radius, but not much else.

“..I think most of the players are burnt out physically and emotionally. Two fantatsic seasons of nearly men and being told they are the best team in the league and still not winning anyything has taken its toll. Then, leaving all our buying till the last minute and getting 2nd or 3rd choice players in over the summer, along with being forced to play at Wembley, has derailed what was a great end to last season..”

    AGREE WITH ALL OF THAT..

We’re a homeless club that blew it’s two best chances of winning the league, other teams have caught up with our fitness, worked out the press and strengthened their squads more judiciously. Add in Walker going, Rose’s antics and injuries to Tobes and Wanyama… And the wind has simply gone out of our sails – we’ve got so few leaders out there and it seems to me that the vibe around us is that we simply don’t know what to do next or what we are realistically fighting for.

    • paul December 17, 2017 at 4:29 pm

Thus we have little to no momentum and oft appear de-energised. Can’t imagine that seeing up close and personal just how good Citeh are helped with that at all and for the first time i feel like there’s an uncomfortable space between Poch and the players

  • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? December 17, 2017 at 4:03 pm

That tackle was Dele tying to effect the game. It was sadly the only way he could effect the game. That was him trying to make an mpact because he couldn’t make one with the ball.

    Irritable new blog.

  • SpurAndy December 17, 2017 at 3:58 pm

Manure currently struggling to stay ahead of WBA. Wonder if their fans are happy.

    • Harry Hotspur December 17, 2017 at 4:17 pm

If I supported Man Utd I’d be very happy.

In terns of TANGIBLE success Jose is doing a good job.

  • Willie! December 17, 2017 at 3:50 pm

Much ado about nothing, certainly not a red card.

Watch the sequence in slow-motion, Dele gets the ball first, brushes it, which takes his leg-swing out of it’s original line and he catches DeBruyne. I don’t think it was intentional, I think it’s just a byproduct of a game played at a feverish pace.

    • Harry Hotspur December 17, 2017 at 3:57 pm

Take the bag off your head and watch it again. All night if you have to. But please don’t e x p l a i n it to us. There’s a love.

I think that money and success papers over holes on people, holes of lacking esteem.
The ego gets inflated and sometimes it just bursts.
These gangstras (they can be any colour or creed)struggle with their inner demons and the paper thin paper covers it up.
Money and fame does the opposite of helping.
We see it all tbe time. Its on reasonable rational levels and up the unreasonable scale.
Its a difficult one to solve if the person cannot see it let alone understand it.

    • Sid Trotter December 17, 2017 at 3:49 pm

Very true indeed. You can take the man out of the country, but you can’t etc,

    • ronwol196061๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ December 17, 2017 at 3:51 pm

The solution is to get back to basics.Start relearning the basic things in a fresh new way.
Honesty is a good start.Looking at the self is not easy but its the only way. It can be sorted.

Dele has a lot of quality football in him.He has to sort out his foindation first.
      It can be done

      • Sid Trotter December 17, 2017 at 3:53 pm

I agree unless it’s John Major’s back to basics with Edwina Currie – not a good example for a young footballer

  • Sid Trotter December 17, 2017 at 3:46 pm

He does a big dirty tackle because he’s got a tiny limp tackle

    • Sid Trotter December 17, 2017 at 3:47 pm

      snigger

  • SpurAndy December 17, 2017 at 3:44 pm

A nawty looking tackle for sure. However he could have had his ankle snapped if KDB had gone over the top. Perhaps that was all assessed in the lead up to the challenge. KDB, good guy not gonna happen but if it was Charlie Adams whoa there. Or as Mattspurs points out it was a pivot and spin. Only person who really knows is Dele.

    • Harry Hotspur December 17, 2017 at 3:58 pm

If they had both been hit by a runaway train, then they could both have died. Life is packed with variables.

  • Salt in the Wound December 17, 2017 at 3:42 pm

Fernandinho on Dembele was the start of it, he wanted to take on and wind up the Spurs ‘hard man’ (will have learned this from Walker and watched the C…..i Costa eye-gouge in any case). From there on, revenge was in the air, and Dele’s showed this ‘I’m a quiet kid but I’ve got a gang-banger inside me’ all the way through. So, because he doesn’t know where he’s playing, and because Erikssen doesn’t get the game by the scruff in the way de Bruyne does, (and de Bruyne steals Dele’s headlines) then the Totts were playing with 10 men from early on. Kane expects supplies, it’s all he needs, and the Erik-Dele supply line has been broken since RM at home.

  • Wombat Hunter December 17, 2017 at 3:39 pm

I wonder if Dele was big enough to apologize to KdB

  • Mattspurs December 17, 2017 at 3:36 pm

If any of you can be arsed at 1.16 in this ad is the ‘trick’ dele is trying to pull off
    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vX0OXyuHvZM

KDB sliding under him under him while he’s trying to do it makes it all look ugly

Problem with the trick is that you pivot and spin over the ball and that’s where KDB slid in

    • Harry Hotspur December 17, 2017 at 3:42 pm

      You’re wasting your breath mate.

      He’s a gobshite.

      • Mattspurs December 17, 2017 at 4:17 pm

Maybe he is, maybe that’s why he tried to show off, trying to spin his man off a loose ball, that said if he’d just tried to flick the ball past KDB then KDB would have probably been the one who’s blood you’d be baying for as he’d have been late, studs showing right through Dele’s ankle.

        • Harry Hotspur December 17, 2017 at 4:34 pm

          So.

If all that you are saying is true, but it was a Tottenham player that nearly had their ankle broken would you have invested as much time and effort into explaining it away?

Yes or no would be nice.

  • caveman December 17, 2017 at 3:27 pm

It’s a pity he didn’t see a straight red yesterday as he would have been suspended for three games and we need to be shot of him for a while!

    • OrganicPaper December 17, 2017 at 3:35 pm

      +1

      • Sid Trotter December 17, 2017 at 3:35 pm

        +2

  • caveman December 17, 2017 at 3:25 pm

There was a lot of ‘over the top’ tackles yesterday, but no doubt about Alli should have seen red. I said at half time on this blog that ‘he was a real dead ringer for a red’

  • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? December 17, 2017 at 3:18 pm

It should of snapped his ankle. Lucky Deles a powder puff really.

    • Horndog ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ December 17, 2017 at 3:19 pm

Amazing he was able to immediately respond with a howitzer that broke our will.

  • Harry Hotspur December 17, 2017 at 3:17 pm

Alli has gone missing, says Sutton http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42385454

  • Mattspurs December 17, 2017 at 3:16 pm

Am I seeing something different but Dele clearly touched the ball first? He’s showing off and trying to spin the man whilst making the tackle but KDB comes in second but under his studs

    • Harry Hotspur December 17, 2017 at 3:18 pm

Are you also seeing KDB twisting his ankle up into Alli’s studs?

      • Mattspurs December 17, 2017 at 3:23 pm

It’s a ‘trick’ Dele does quite a bit – he’s twisting to correct his body position but unfortunately KDB has slid in under his studs

    • OrganicPaper December 17, 2017 at 3:20 pm

It’s not really relevant that he touched the ball first. He went in dangerously and Way over the top of the ball. It was totally excessive and KDB was pretty fortunate not to end up in hospital.

  • PhilBealOG December 17, 2017 at 3:16 pm

Its a shame the likes ofNorman Hunter, Chopper Harris and Tommy Smith are no longer around. They would show him what a real hard man is and kick him into next week.

    • Sid Trotter December 17, 2017 at 3:23 pm

Chopper Harris had a sweet shop near us

      • ๐Ÿ’‹ December 17, 2017 at 3:57 pm

        Ruxley Lane, Ewell?

  • OrganicPaper December 17, 2017 at 3:09 pm

It’s a shame he didn’t get a straight red. He deserved it and more for that.
Now we have to suffer more turgid shit against burnely

  • Horndog ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ December 17, 2017 at 3:05 pm

I wonder what Deleโ€™s Spurs Belgian teammates thought of that?

    • Harry Hotspur December 17, 2017 at 3:11 pm

Hadn’t thought of that. Let’s hope none of then watch the game again, eh?

      • Horndog ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ December 17, 2017 at 3:12 pm

        Paybacks are hell.

        • Harry Hotspur December 17, 2017 at 3:13 pm

It’s highly likely that they’ve had the lad round for food etc in their own homes. This won’t be ignored.

  • Hugh Green December 17, 2017 at 3:04 pm

I can see you’ve never played football. Dele got to the ball first and caught KDB on the follow through. Can I expect an article on Kane getting kicked in the face.

    • Harry Hotspur December 17, 2017 at 3:09 pm

You can expect to be laughed at. ‘I can see you’ve never…’ fuck off. If that had been done to him – and I hope someone breaks his legs for him – you’d be crying like a baby.

      Post this junk elsewhere.

    • OrganicPaper December 17, 2017 at 3:11 pm

Got the ball…. mate he almost snapped his ankle in 2 and even had the grace to follow his body weight through. It was nasty and it’s not the first time he has done it

    • Freund or Foe December 17, 2017 at 3:12 pm

I couldn’t give two hoots about the challenge, but if you think that he “just caught KDB on the follow through”, then you shouldn’t really be judging others footballing knowledge.

    • Mattspurs December 17, 2017 at 3:20 pm

It’s weird but I see it the same way, Dele clearly gets the ball first but due to the way he’s trying to spin the man his studs come down the other side of the ball. Sadly KDB is trying to make a tackle and slides under the landing studs.

  • Horndog ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ December 17, 2017 at 3:03 pm

He received a yellow so no retrospective action available, correct? Too bad, he deserves a lengthy sentence. Shameful. Gangsta. Bullshit.

    • Harry Hotspur December 17, 2017 at 3:10 pm

      Disgraceful and without excuse.

  • MrBrightside December 17, 2017 at 3:03 pm

Running more km in a game than your opponents is not the same as running AT your opponents with pace and purpose.

Poch is focused on fitness – what we need is more athleticism.
