West Ham’s move to the former Olympic Stadium – so far has been an unmitigated disaster.

They’ve only won one game there, and were vomited out of the Europa Cup by a team of minnows.

The fans have responded in typical West Ham style, and begun cuffing each other up.

Gold and Sullivan have been forced into issuing a statement:

“There is no question that this has not been the start to the season that we were looking for but rest assured we are doing everything we can to fix the situation”

“The facts are there for everyone to see. We know we are letting in too many goals and not scoring enough, but be assured we will sort the problems out. We will turn our season around.”

We stated last week that we would be putting measures in place to make the London Stadium experience something everyone can be proud of and we would like to thank all our supporters for their support in this regard.

Supporters can rest assured that we will not be slowing our efforts despite the match against Southampton being completely trouble-free, and we will not stop working until everyone feels they have a stadium to be proud of – on and off the pitch.”

Whilst the Porn Barons and Lady FaceLikeAKickedInFridge have undoubtedly devised a sound business model, they really did fail to think through what it would be like to play an actual game of football at the Olympic Stadium.

The stadium itself is said to be pumping out crowd noise from the PA system and there are banks of fans around the stadium that are refusing to sit down and so views are obscured.

What appears to be craziest of all, is that nobody appears to have even thought to address the distance supporters are from the pitch. Most fans appear to be generally unhappy with their view.

This last point isn’t negotiable, and I’m struggling to see how the owners can possibly address something that they fundamentally have no control over.

The real problems here lie with Boris and Lord Coe who’s demand for ‘legacy’ has left West Ham with a stadium that is desperately unfit to play football in, but okay to host the odd ‘running around in circles’ event.

Our Wembley decision is only marginally better, but only because it isn’t a permanent deal.

Neither the OS or Wembley are designed to do anymore than pack in as many spectators as possible.

Even Daniel Levy who has won awards for peeling oranges in his pockets was insistent that the Olympic structure had to be knocked down and new arena built in its stead.
