Well the good news is that the junk that wasn’t good enough to play for their respective nations is back at Hotspur Way and busy… promoting next season’s training kit.

Now he may be quite a terrible footballer and a gigantic homophobe, but Serge Aurier’s darkest secret has only just hit the public domain.

Off duty, he dresses like someone who stayed over at Lenny Kravitz’s and grabbed the first items that came to hand before jumping into his Über.

Joining the boy Serge were Erik Lamela, Michel Vorm, Victor Wanyama and Harry Winks!

He lives.

He walks.

Heck, his knees even appear to work.

Cue the lobotomised fans declaring Harry’s return to be ‘just like a new signing’…

For those wanting a reminder of what we’re up against in this transfer window, he’s a shot of Moussa Sissoko and Lucas Moura amortising er… training.

Meanwhile, on the transfer rumour front there is nothing credible out there.

The Sun have decided to randomly reheat the Malcom rumour.

Steve Goodman even takes a well earned swipe at ENIC with his headline: ‘Spurs step up pursuit of Bordeaux winger Malcom who could cost a whopping £45m.’

‘The 21 year-old has fantastic ball carrying ability … he would replace some of what the Belgian brings to the table, dribbling the ball forward from midfield.

While Bruce does not confirm Spurs will be the team to sign the 22 year-old…’

My view of tonight’s match. Harry could do it for England, but he will struggle to shoot because Sterling and Lingard won’t provide the passes. They haven’t so far, and won’t against Croatia. They are both selfish glory hunters and although Harry is also hungry for goals, that’s his job. Sterling is supposed to be a winger primarily, Lingard a midfielder. Both, if presented with a good pass to put Kane in on goal, or a half chance to snatch a goal themselves, WILL ALWAYS try to grab the headlines, especially Sterling, who at Liverpool and now Citeh, has been put on a pedestal and now firmly believes he is our most important player.

    • Gloster1861 July 11, 2018 at 8:00 am

For the above reasons, England to lose.

We have so many players to shift. Could be double figures.
Be patient. It’s not like nobody is working on it.

If Levy refuses to buy until he has unloaded a host of wage thieves (which in a sense must be a concern for him) then he is not being brave. Pochettino can’t be happy but of course he’s shot his bolt by shaking hands with Levy and taking his coin.

Since Levy tries to squeeze every last penny from a situation we will always be at the end of the window. Villa for instance will keep on hoping that someone else comes in for Grealish with a decent offer and won’t take Levy’s no doubt minimal offer until the last knockings. Likewise Levy will drive hard bargains with sales, and that will also be brinkmanship.

It all takes time, so the football always suffers.

    • Tappaspur July 11, 2018 at 8:14 am

It doesn’t matter if another club comes in for a player if the player doesn’t want to play for them no matter how much more they offer.

      • Tappaspur July 11, 2018 at 8:23 am

Grealish’s agent to villa. Jack only wants to play for Tottenham. Tottenham are only prepared to pay £25m. villa then only has two choices. Rotting in the reserves days are over

        • Gloster1861 July 11, 2018 at 8:34 am

Of course this isn’t true. No other top team has yet expressed an interest in Grealish. So he wants to come to a CL team rather than go somewhere like Watford or Everton. But you wait and see. If Arsenal or Liverpool made a higher bid, he’d be gone in a cloud of dust.

          • Tappaspur July 11, 2018 at 8:39 am

Only if he wanted to go there not if only the club wants him to go there. I’m saying ultimately its up to him. He cant be forced.

            • Tappaspur July 11, 2018 at 8:42 am

And why would he want to go to those shit clubs you mentioned?!

                See below.

            • Gloster1861 July 11, 2018 at 8:44 am

He can’t be forced but his desire to join Spurs has hardly been tested by him having a choice of another good team. That’s my point.

              • Gloster1861 July 11, 2018 at 8:49 am

If for argument Arsenal offered a couple of million more, would Grealish say no to them? It would be interesting.

                • Tappaspur July 11, 2018 at 8:51 am

Offered him £2m more or his club?

                  • Gloster1861 July 11, 2018 at 8:52 am

                    To Villa.

Whats that got to do with him?

                  • Gloster1861 July 11, 2018 at 8:54 am

However, this appears to be academic as no one else seems to be bothered to bid for Grealish. Which is worrying.

                    • Tappaspur July 11, 2018 at 9:02 am

Maybe because words got round the agent campfire that he’s on his way to TOTTENHAM. He is a very very good young footballer, id be glad to see him come. Poch can work with them feet.

          • Harry Hotspur July 11, 2018 at 8:41 am

he’d be gone in a cloud of dust.

            He’s back on the gear?

  • Syd July 11, 2018 at 2:12 am

I think France will do a number of Harry similar to Lukaku. England doesn’t have the ball player to get him into a space and whatever he makes he will have to do it himself.
My only disclaimer is if Dele has a blinder

    • Finn July 11, 2018 at 6:13 am

Assuming we get past Croatia that is; I wouldn’t write them off they have not got this far by being rubbish.

However if we do go through I can see a carbon copy of the Belgium game with France looking to nick one and then frustrate us – the problem is we are set up to let them do it. We do not have any real attacking flair in midfield anmd what we might get from Delli is negated by how deep he is playing. The back line is doing far more creatively than the midfield: tho’ by the back line I mean Trippier with a bit of help from Bonzo.

Lingard, Alli and Sterling were not physical enough to effectively compete against Colombia and will certainly not be able to against the like of Umtiti and Pogba who are just as fast and athletic but 6 inches taller, broader and stronger.

Sterling I think is being kept in place to do a role similar to what Llamela did for us, which is to harass their first midfield line and he’s burning up the work, but he has to turn some of that steam to traction or make way for someone else who can.

If we get through I’d start with Rashford instead of Sterling and give Delli a more forward role to create more for Rashford and Kane. This would also let Harry drop in and pick up a ball or two to run at the defence and shoot, whilst Rashfiord is pushed up on the centrebacks.

I think we should also switch out Young and Rose at half time. We must upset the French dynamic, but I just can’t see Southgate doing anything else but following the formula and frankly that hasn’t really been tested.

Still may yet all be academic……

      • Syd July 11, 2018 at 6:34 am

Hi Finn, i am definitely not writing off the Croats. I think they have a very skilled team and I make the odds 50/50. Just syaing if England get through.

      • Harry Hotspur July 11, 2018 at 6:37 am

        Superb analysis.

Kane gets loose change again and academic is the right word.

      Unlike Aurier Parad looks impressive.

      • Gloster1861 July 11, 2018 at 8:02 am

I’ve expressed my views on Lukaku. If the ball is placed right in front of him he’ll score. But that’s all he can do.

  • dilly July 11, 2018 at 12:09 am

Whilst Leicester are prepared to offer England centre-back Harry Maguire, 25, a new deal to make him one of their highest-paid players (Leicester Mercury) one suspects he will reject the offer and seek pastures new once the World Cup is over.
Great signing if we can get him.

          • Syd July 11, 2018 at 6:38 am

I think there is a strong chance Llorente will go as will Janssen which can only mean they have a back up striker in their sights. Sonny is very good but not a full time striker.

  • Accy July 10, 2018 at 11:06 pm

Dilly I personally think Henderson’s been fairly good. Not massively creative, but effective.

Sterling on the other hand is about as useful as a fart in an elevator.

    • dilly July 10, 2018 at 11:09 pm

Thats it England is not blessed with any creative midfielders !

    • gus July 10, 2018 at 11:12 pm

Sterling has his plus points; his pace, he makes fairly good runs that trouble the opposition defensive line. But like Azza Blud, all that is spoiled by the lack of vision and inability or unwillingness to set up the best striker in England or any of his team mates for that matter

    • Syd July 11, 2018 at 2:09 am

Henderson is better than Dier I am afraid

  • Sid Trotter July 10, 2018 at 10:59 pm

Dele is our weak link. He is England’s too. I’d swap him for a carton of silk cut

    • dilly July 10, 2018 at 11:03 pm

Partly due him looking unfit plus deployed in a deeper role than he plays for Spurs has clearly negated his influence but as she showed against Sweden he has a useful nack of popping up with goals!!

        *he!

    • Accy July 10, 2018 at 11:04 pm

Sterling is the weak link hence all the niggly comments about his performance. He’s always been pants for England.

Dele’s problem is that he’s never been able to control a football, hence plying his trade in League 2. Capable of moments of brilliance is better than nothing, and why he made the squad.

      • dilly July 10, 2018 at 11:07 pm

Accy pacy Sterling is not the weak link. To the contrary he always puts in a shift and attempts to make things happen.

        • Willie! July 11, 2018 at 3:41 am

Sterling is absolutely the weak link. Rashford brings as much pace over 70-100yds (*Sterling may edge him in a 40yd sprint, but won’t in a 100yd), can dribble and take players on without running down endless blind alleys, can finish, and is willing to pass.

        • Gloster1861 July 11, 2018 at 7:17 am

Really expected more from that semi-final.
Belgium just never seemed to really go for it – even De Bruyne half-heartedly shanking shots way wide and over. France coasted to victory without ever looking amazing either.
Danny Murphy must’ve been high on horse tranquillisers as he seemed to believe he was watching the greatest performance ever from a footballer in MBappé.
A simple back-heel and a squared pass across the box were greeted with “sensational” and “is there anything this kid can’t do…?!”

As for Griezmann, this is the 4th(?) international tournament I’ve heard his name banged about like a cheap desperate slapper, and I’m yet to see him do anything I didn’t already see Andy Turner do back in the early 90’s.

OR Lookahpoo scoring a hat trick in the third place match. Don’t see either of those doing that

    • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 9:18 pm

A couple tomorrow wouldn’t go amiss for HK.

  • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:58 pm

Pookaky. A shining lump of turd.

  • paul July 10, 2018 at 8:57 pm

Hazard plus another 25mil to his price tag after this WC

  • paul July 10, 2018 at 8:56 pm

Fuck, i spend a lot of time in France, it will be a different order of intolerable if we get through and they do us

  • Harry Hotspur July 10, 2018 at 8:56 pm

Unconvinced Eng would beat either of those two

    • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:57 pm

Let’s not worry about that until we beat rat boy tomorrow.

      • Harry Hotspur July 10, 2018 at 9:01 pm

        True.

We might shave 87p off of Kovacic’s RRP

    • East Stand July 10, 2018 at 9:39 pm

I’ll be flabbergasted if England get past Modders and Co.

However, heartbreak in the semi will be easier to take than in the final. Might as well put them out of their misery tomorrow!

  • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:54 pm

Good news is that Kane has a great chance of the go!den boot just with his six goals so far. Lukaku ended up being total shit.

    • paul July 10, 2018 at 8:55 pm

And you never know Glos but somebody might actually put Harry in tomorrow night

      • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:59 pm

How many goals has Mbappe the Wonderdog notched up? Just three.

    • East Stand July 10, 2018 at 9:46 pm

Liverpool fan rang into Talkshite yesterday complaining that this England team aren’t actually very good.

Perhaps it’s a Liverpool FC quirk that proportion of their fan base actually dislikes England? I’ve heard this kind of thing from them before.

Or is it envy that after their players trolling Kane on Twitter over his goal tally that their little Egyptian did fuck all at the WC? Or that that only have ONE player in the team opposed to our three plus Dier & Rose?

Some of them seem to want to run everything about the country down, unless it’s to do with Liverpool…

Spurs Club Captain leads France to the World Cup Final !

    • baz July 10, 2018 at 8:55 pm

For quite a few of our current squad it’s cashing in time

  • Aussie in Switzerland July 10, 2018 at 8:53 pm

    Lukaku….. Overrated

    • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:55 pm

Massively. Just a bulky unit who can build up a head of steam if given thirty yards start. Nothing else in his locker.

  • paul July 10, 2018 at 8:53 pm

    Small margins innit

  • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:53 pm

Belgium go out to a stupid headed goal.

    Tragic.

    • baz July 10, 2018 at 8:54 pm

Headers from Set plays are not real goals

  • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:51 pm

Jan, do us a favour and do Mbappe’s ankle please!!!

  • baz July 10, 2018 at 8:51 pm

    4 arm smash by Verts

    • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:52 pm

      That’ll do.

  • OrganicPaper July 10, 2018 at 8:50 pm

do Belgium not realise there are only 3 mins left?

  • paul July 10, 2018 at 8:49 pm

Gazcrack does your bet inc stoppage time within the 90?

    • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? July 10, 2018 at 8:50 pm

Yeah all the match not extra time

      • baz July 10, 2018 at 8:50 pm

        It’s sin I tell ya.

    • baz July 10, 2018 at 8:49 pm

  • baz July 10, 2018 at 8:48 pm

    6 minutes

  • paul July 10, 2018 at 8:48 pm

Waffles will be kicking themselves over this

    • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:49 pm

They will. Another ‘golden generation’ misses out.

  • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? July 10, 2018 at 8:48 pm

Chadli has a massive gap toward goal. Instead of running into it he turns and runs into 4 defenders. W T…. F?

    • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:50 pm

Wtf is he doing in the squad?

  • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:46 pm

Lukaku has been sussed out today. He has the reactions around the box of a snail on diazepam.

    • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:48 pm

He’s okay when he’s trundling forward and someone places a cross right in front of him, but other than that he’s pance.

  • OrganicPaper July 10, 2018 at 8:46 pm

Lukaku was just admiring that KDB pass instead of attacking it!

    • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? July 10, 2018 at 8:46 pm

      Yep

  • Mad Carew July 10, 2018 at 8:46 pm

    Lukaku completely misses a header

    • baz July 10, 2018 at 8:46 pm

      Defender put him off

  • Mad Carew July 10, 2018 at 8:45 pm

    Azard was smart there

  • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:43 pm

Can you imagine how an England France game would go? Giroud gets a
    deflected goal, parked charabanc.

    • OrganicPaper July 10, 2018 at 8:44 pm

Lloris hasn’t had his scheduled brain fart yet though, so there is always hope on that front

  • OrganicPaper July 10, 2018 at 8:40 pm

I feel a bit cheated by this game. I though it would be more entertaining, more goals and chances.

France can defend very well and with the weapons they have up top they will be very hard to beat on Sunday

    • paul July 10, 2018 at 8:42 pm

assuming we beat rat boy and his mob..

      • OrganicPaper July 10, 2018 at 8:43 pm

        of course we will 🙂

    • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? July 10, 2018 at 8:42 pm

You’d expect Belgium to show more.

      • OrganicPaper July 10, 2018 at 8:44 pm

Yes for sure. Lukaku has been the victim of piss poor service

      • paul July 10, 2018 at 8:44 pm

Agreed but it does show you just how hard it is to break through a very organised and talented team intent on protecting their lead, even with top talent like Hazard (who has given everything tonight btw).

Loocackooh has been under par, again

  • Elevenstonedidiots July 10, 2018 at 8:38 pm

Watching Toby out there i cant believe we are even entertaining the idea of letting him go. Moussa had a tough night though

    • paul July 10, 2018 at 8:45 pm

Both i bury my head in my hands at the thought of them leaving

  • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? July 10, 2018 at 8:36 pm

    Ref not given that??

    • baz July 10, 2018 at 8:37 pm

      Book him for the dive

      • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? July 10, 2018 at 8:38 pm

        Yep. One or t’other.

    • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:38 pm

Suspicious that one. Where’s the VAR today?

      • paul July 10, 2018 at 8:39 pm

        exactly!

  • Mad Carew July 10, 2018 at 8:34 pm

England would have a much better chance against France than against Belgium.

    • paul July 10, 2018 at 8:34 pm

      Are you off your meds?

      • Mad Carew July 10, 2018 at 8:38 pm

We would struggle to contain Hazard and KDB, they would dominate midfield and the Spurs CB’s would crush our attack.
        Super save Hugo

        • paul July 10, 2018 at 8:40 pm

Many more chances available against the waffles, French shut up shop rather too well and have Griezmann and Mbappe to murder us on the break

          • Mad Carew July 10, 2018 at 8:42 pm

If they score first, Kaneinho will have us 2 up by then, that’s when the French lose the bap !

  • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:33 pm

Belgium left their shooting boots in the training camp.

    • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? July 10, 2018 at 8:35 pm

De Bruynne is as bad as Suarez v the French last time. Must be a coincidence.

      • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:37 pm

Referee ignores a whack on Belgium’s most dangerous player just outside the box.

        No VAR now is there!!

        • baz July 10, 2018 at 8:38 pm

          Fishy business

        • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? July 10, 2018 at 8:39 pm

    • Mad Carew July 10, 2018 at 8:26 pm

He’s making Sterling look like a proper Striker

  • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? July 10, 2018 at 8:25 pm

Giroud is a WEeeeeeeeAK link. Get him off.

    • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:26 pm

Do you want France to win?

      • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? July 10, 2018 at 8:27 pm

No. He’s just ruining the football. I need a draw in 90. No point betting on France. Odds awful.

        • paul July 10, 2018 at 8:28 pm

I’d say your on course for that

          • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? July 10, 2018 at 8:29 pm

            Maybe. Match flows decent value.

            • paul July 10, 2018 at 8:31 pm

Waffles need to move the ball quicker

        • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:29 pm

France defending too well for me. They’d play eight behind the ball and rely on a break from Mbappe.

          • Gloster1861 July 10, 2018 at 8:29 pm

            Against England.

            • paul July 10, 2018 at 8:30 pm

Much rather lose to Belgium than the frogs!

          • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? July 10, 2018 at 8:30 pm

Well I expect France to win it now Brazil have gone as I said before. Don’t want to be right though.

            • paul July 10, 2018 at 8:32 pm
