Sampdoria VP Met With Levy On Wednesday

By The Boy -

If you’re enjoying the never-ending ‘building’ ride so much that if there was a eau de toilette called Austerity, you’d wear it, then this is for you.

The source article is paywalled here or you can read the Calciomercato version here.

£22million is the price of the Investment company’s latest shrewd target, claim the Italians.

Sampdoria Vice President Antonio Romei was in London on Wednesday to meet with our man at the helm, who was peeling an orange in his pocket through the meeting.

Joachim Andersen was the topic of conversation, the 22 year old’s contract expires in 2020 and the suggest is that he’ll be sold in the summer.

This is Joachim’s second season at Sampdoria, but his first full one. During the 2017/18 made just 6 starting XIs and 7 appearances in the SerieA.

This kid could be the bee’s knees, however I am a normal human being and question the logic of throwing away a proven CB to take a punt on a new one.

Would the sane thing to do – not be to keep both?

100%, it’s a false economy if you ask me.

Well, actually if you don’t care about putting together a team that is ready to win stuff and it’s all about the bottom line it isn’t.

Levy and ENIC have never factored winning stuff in as a means to grow the club and accumulate wealth that way.

The times we’ve been close to winning things with just a little extra investment in the team under this lot is a fucking joke. Yet again, they will let that ship sail and sell our best players, spin the future bullshit, repeat, repeat.

Meanwhile Joe sits on 6bn aged 80 and he’s supposed to be a fan? Fuck off is he…

The most insane thing to me is this.
Let’s say both want 3-4 year deals worth 150-175 a week at most.
Let’s also say they both have 2 good years in them before age catches up, at least.
4 years to collect their money while playing well while also teaching are young replacements how to form a world beating CB team. Its dumbfounding to think we would let this pair go.
Giving these two guys, despite their age a good contract would ensure not just now but the future of Sanchez & foyth to learn from these two. Unbelievable

Couldn’t agree more. For the club to consider letting these lads leave is basically criminal. While kane and son and alli etc will take alot of the plaudits, there’s a strong case to say Jan has been as good for a long time and as far as I’m concerned, Toby is the best there is. Foyth and sanchez will develop, it if that fuckwit thinks he’s gonna let them go and have no repercussion, that will really finish me off. I wonder if it’s dawned on him that to replace will cost upwards of 130m, at the same level anyway, and what does he expect to pay players who are being signed at those kind of prices?? Unless the end game is cheaper cheaper cheaper

Right now it’s the contractors building the stadium who will deliver it within 2 and a half years. It’s just that Levy’s told everyone it would take one…

Levy doesn’t give s crap about fans, he just sees them and the game of football as another sector in which to make money.

ENIC bought Spurs purely because the property prices in the area were very low. A 20 year property investment plan to sit and do nothing for 17 of those years while it goes up in value has been the plan all along.

It explains why Levy, a property development specialist hasn’t been particularly keen to throw any real money into the team. To reach their objectives the football hardly matters at all…

That’s not true. They’re just doing some finishing touches in there as part of the sky walk and using the natural light. It will be filled in

Not sure what that gap is for, might still be closed up as it looks like there’s some kind of access scaffolding along it.

I don’t see a great deal wrong with the overall design, all modern stadiums look a bit shit anyway. The trick is to make it look the least shit as possible.

I’ll take the contrast of the old Edwardian, 1950’s and 1930’s hotchpoch around it (no pun intended) to keep Spurs where they belong.

Just need better owners, keep Poch and we can start winning stuff. We could now, it’s just that Baldy doesn’t want the fans getting above their station…

No English team has won all four major competitions in one season, with Manchester United coming closest by claiming the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in 1999.

When I saw there were some owners against the price cap I thought, Levy will clearly be one. The big 6 have their own little cabal it seems, contacting each other exclusively. They are getting carte Blanche which is probably why the division is now an parody of uncompetitive and fixed football. Also them 6 are pushing for failed ex BT sport their executive Gavin Patterson to take over at the Premiere helm. Football fans should find out why that is. This cabal will only gain more power and sucking and asset stripping the for all they’re worth.

For my sins I’ve just had a quick look at cowlin latest vid from the building site earlier today. He’s saying that the gap that’s in the panels along the West to South stand is staying that way. As I’ve never been a builder, I’m curious as to if there’s a technical reason for that, because purely from a aesthetic perspective it looks shit and unfinished. Oh wait it isn’t finished. But I am curious. I don’t like to look at his vids as any man who can get excited about trees being planted when the fire system doesn’t work kinda sums up what’s wrong with our club. Anyone know?

Looks like the plans are being laid for our two most experienced and effective players, Verts and Toby to exit the club.

Despite there being fuck all wrong with either of them apart from resale value and the need to be paid the going rate before they move to Qatar or China at 36.

What about the present Baldy? Never has, mattered and never will. The irony is that the ‘future’ success never comes and still hasn’t after 17 years.

Levy got lucky with Poch which has enabled him to continue with the spin and illusion. The two years at Wembley was never communicated to anyone in fear of a drop in revenues.

Levy thinks everyone’s stupid, the problem is that rather a lot of them are…
