Release Of Spurs #7 Being Negotiated + Full Interview

By The Boy -

Son Heung-min, who is currently training at Hotspur Way is a wanted man.

Despite being 26 year old, he is able to play for Korea’s U23 side in the impending Asian Games.

It is the understanding of the Korean Times that Son has been granted leave to participate, however Tottenham Hotspur are wanting to nail down just how long they will be without their #7.

The Asian Games run from August 14 to September 1st, however Korea have a pre-yournament friendly with Iraq on the 9th of the month.

This places a further burden on Maurico Pochettino who now somewhat famously told the press at the end of the last season Spurs needed to be brave.

Maybe the bravery will be proved in due course – we won’t have to wait long.

But eventually thrashing out a deal for the freshly relegated Jack Grealish is not to be vaguely confused with brave.

In this video, Son visits a 12-year-old boy named Lee Sang-ho, who is battling leukemia. Sang-ho’s dream was to meet with Son, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation was able to make his dream come true.

The general scenario of the video is as follows:

Son meets with Sang-ho and his parents
Son answers some questions from Sang-ho
Son and Sang-ho exchange gifts. Son gets a shirt with his and Sang-ho’s initials, while Sang-ho gets an autographed football.
Son invited Sang-ho to play Winning Eleven
Sang-ho’s parents sends a thank-you message to Son.

Here are the questions that Son answers:

#1: Do you have a team that you want to join and play for, even just for one game?
SHM: Which team do you like?
LSH: I like Tottenham.
SHM: You like Tottenham the best? Then I’ll stay in Tottenham, where you like.

#2: Which player do you respect the most?

SHM: Cristiano Ronaldo. I cultivated my dreams while watching Ronaldo, so I really like him. Do you like Ronaldo?
LSH: I used to like him.
SHM: You used to? (laughs) And now you like me more?
LSH: Yeah.

#3: When was the hardest time for you? Did you have a time when you wanted to quit?

SHM: I’ve never thought that football was hard. Not even once. I don’t consider football as my work; I consider it as a playful game. If I’m stressed, or if I’m going through an unfortunate event, I get better by playing football. So in my football career, I’ve never had a time when I felt it was too difficult, or when I wanted to quit.
Host: Sang-ho used to be a football player in elementary school.
SHM: Yes, I’ve heard. Which position did you play?
LSH: I was a goalkeeper.
SHM: You were a goalkeeper? Then what do you think of my teammate Lloris?
LSH: (nervous laughter) I don’t know him well, but I do use him a lot in games.

#4: Which Tottenham player are you the closest to?

SHM: Wow, that’s difficult.
LSM: Well, if you had to choose one.
SHM: If I had to choose one…the other players might get jealous if they watch this. Ben Davies. We attack and defend together on the left side, so we became really close. We talk a lot….
LSM: Do Tottenham players live together?
SHM: We don’t live in a dormitory. We stay in separate houses, but we train together, then go home.

This is the third installment in a series of five videos that this channel made when Son visited South Korea. They were made before the World Cup.

The other four are:

#1: Son signs a new contract with Adidas, and tries out his new boots

#2: Son answers some questions, mostly about boots

#4: Son plays Winning Eleven with Sang-ho

#5: Son answers some questions about the World Cup, and talks about his mindset going into the tournament
