Bournemouth away is as good an opportunity as any to out some distance between us and the disappointment of Juventus.

Injury updates Serge Aurier is back which will no doubt delight his legion of hard core fans who have been charmed by his moderate tackling, his use of his height and above all, his pace. Toby Alderweireld remains sidelined as his still busy negotiating his contract with Manchester United.

Random quote The gaffer has been discussing his enthusiasm for the new stadium and how everyone was looking forward to making it home. Poch told the Evening Standard:

“We’re in a good way to create a massive club because we have all the tools to be one of the biggest clubs in Europe.” Tools? That’s a terrible way to describe Moussa Sissok and Dele Alli.

Away Form Spurs have won 60%, drawn 15% and lost 25% of their last 20 away games. Which ought to provide a welcome edge.

Crisp Packet Hands Hugo Lloris has been under fire (on and off for some time) however he’s kept a clean sheet in 8 of our last 20 away games, going on to win all 8 of these matches.

Cherries Home Form Bournemouth have won 45%, drawn 25% and lost 30% of their last 20 home games. Bournemouth have also scored in 80% of their last 20 home games.

    Short memory? .

Dammit! Now I’ve forgotten what I was going to say. I’m sure it was relevant, what were we talking about?

  • Andrew March 11, 2018 at 12:42 pm

Today we have to start positively ,quick passing as they are no mugs. Not the sideways and slow back passing way.

So how was he mistreated? I didn’t understand B’s comment.

I’ve spoken to his son and several others. It’s not tittle tattle for the blog but rest assured most clubs are total ****s to their ‘legends’ and Spurs have blazed their own trail.

  • Andrew March 11, 2018 at 12:20 pm

Worst ham are an awful club, same with goons and cheatski. They are like the school ground bullies, and we are the club they like to bash. They are obsessed with us and I can’t understand why anyone would support a club like theirs .
Worst ham = Neanderthal ,racist dirty fans, no good to society.
Cheatski = small club with money, racist fans, no honour , Waste of time.
Arse = scummy fans, lucky club, act as if they are classy but are truly classless.
    Spurs, = truly wonderful

      Post of the week!

  • DAVID March 11, 2018 at 12:12 pm

I would hope the players will be up for it today,a chance to get the Juve game out of their systems.

  • paul March 11, 2018 at 12:03 pm

WetSpam, the only bright point in an otherwise awful week

    • Matt March 11, 2018 at 12:06 pm

True, but it was a very bright point!! I wonder if it entered Sullivans thick head that wearing his usual Russian fancy dress was a bit ill judged.

  • Andrew March 11, 2018 at 11:51 am

How we react today after the disappointment on Wednesday will show if we have the mentality to move on. I think we may have a few injuries after some bad tackles by juve, if we win today ,the juv e game will be almost forgotten. If we lose, doubts may appear, so I think this is one of the most important games of the season.

    • paul March 11, 2018 at 11:54 am

The next game is always the most important game of the season

      • Andrew March 11, 2018 at 11:58 am

True, every game is important, but if we lose this one , and lose to the chavs, a top four place is unlikely.
If we win today (especially after going out the cl) will show a stronger mentality, something which has been missing for years.

        • paul March 11, 2018 at 12:02 pm

Lets lose this one first :’)

          • Andrew March 11, 2018 at 12:06 pm

Let’s win today and beat cheatski , I will have forgotten the juv e game.

        • 61SpursNut🌰 March 11, 2018 at 12:02 pm

Short memory? Only last season we went out of the Ropey to Gent and immediately went on to win 12 of our last 13 league games. I haven’t had a thought about us having a weak mentality for the last three seasons.

        • UnkleTaff March 11, 2018 at 12:07 pm

On the other hand, win today and then beat the chavs and a top-four place is virtually guaranteed.

        • UnkleTaff March 11, 2018 at 12:14 pm

…also, Liverpool have only one one of the seven league games so far following a CL game (drawing four and losing the other two). With Everton and Chelsea still to play (in addition to (at least) two more CL ties) they are by no means assured a top-four finish themselves.

  • UnkleTaff March 11, 2018 at 11:36 am

Harry Kane will put Salah back in his box by scoring four today.

    • East Stand March 11, 2018 at 11:37 am

  • Matt March 11, 2018 at 11:24 am

Will we be playing Chelsea after they’ve come off a midweek hammering from Barcelona? That’s Ben handy. Agree McG we should freshen a bit, the lads who played Weds are going to be a bit flat.

    • McG March 11, 2018 at 11:29 am

Both wanna make the WC, both winners, I’d play them personally. Rest Alli & Son would be my shout.

I can see Lucas starting today & one of our AM’s rested, poss even two if Poch starts Lamela, which I’d be inclined to do. Freshen it up a little after Weds..

    • East Stand March 11, 2018 at 11:39 am

Yeah, I’d start Moura if he’s fit. Might find the full 90 a struggle but start him and play him for 65 mins or somat…

        Lamela needs some mins too.

  • caveman March 11, 2018 at 11:17 am

So are knackered after last Wednesday?

  • gloster1861 March 11, 2018 at 11:10 am

    I never realised this:

‘Moore left West Ham on bad terms and was never again fully welcome at the club. The dispute went back to 1966 when he had sought a move to Tottenham; he believed that, with Spurs, he would have a better chance of winning the title. West Ham refused to sell – as the club was entitled to do in the era before freedom of contract – and Moore’s determination to go almost prevented him from playing in the World Cup.

When his contract expired on 30 June, he was not only unattached to a club, but unaffiliated to the FA and ineligible to play for the national team. Alf Ramsey had to summon Moore and the West Ham manager, Ron Greenwood, to the England squad’s base at Hendon before the two sides agreed to resolve their differences.

The dispute simmered on and, when Greenwood vetoed another transfer to Spurs four years later – which Moore, then 29, saw as his last chance of a big move – the relationship between the two deteriorated further. Finally, Moore was told he could leave on a personally lucrative free transfer at the end of the 1973-74 season.

West Ham reneged even on that promise and sold him to Fulham for £25,000. ‘

Poor bloke, lost his chance to play for a decent club.

They deserve the championship. It’s their natural place. Second string London club.

    • Ronan March 11, 2018 at 11:34 am

Heard Paul miller say last week that Bobby Moore told him he wished he’d joined Spurs rather than west ham.

He’s a riveting listen on both 80s spurs and 2018 spurs

I like Mark Noble. Although he plays for the Pokies, he’s a credit to his football club and a decent lad. There, I said it.

  • East Stand March 11, 2018 at 11:04 am

Will be tough after the Wednesday game mentally but a chance to bounce back. In all honesty I’d take a 0-1 but suspect Bournemouth might score so might need a cuppla goals.

  • mysticarnold March 11, 2018 at 11:03 am

Hopefuly 2 years from now we won t feel the same way about about the new tenple of football as West am fans feel about the London Stadium

    • gloster1861 March 11, 2018 at 11:12 am

They’re just visitors at a bed and breakfast. West Ham haven’t really got a home.

  • gloster1861 March 11, 2018 at 10:47 am

    For Accy.

Burney now have a run of very winnable games, and 5th May they are away to Arsenal. They have a very, very good chance of overhauling the gooners for sixth place.

    Wouldn’t that be nice. 😂

    • gloster1861 March 11, 2018 at 10:48 am

      *Burnley.

    • Accy March 11, 2018 at 10:51 am

Would love to finish above them for at least 3 seasons in a row with Wenger still in charge next season. Lots of gooner mates who have been giving it the gob over the past 20 years.

      • gloster1861 March 11, 2018 at 10:53 am

If Kaneinho wants 30 league goals and a third successive golden boot he needs to start scoring again. A hat trick today would be just what the doctor ordered.

        • Accy March 11, 2018 at 10:57 am

I think he’s just been getting marked out of games. Not been able to find the space he usually does. But then if you were an opposition manager that’s what you’d instruct your players to do aswell.

          • gloster1861 March 11, 2018 at 11:01 am

You mean they weren’t marking him the rest of the season?

        • Sexy Beast March 11, 2018 at 10:58 am

I’d take one and a clean sheet right now and run.

        • East Stand March 11, 2018 at 11:00 am

Two from Kane would do nicely and a third from Sonny. 1-3

Top Secret – great film (Val Kilmer)

  • gloster1861 March 11, 2018 at 10:35 am

I’m fully expecting a hard game and the Cherries to score first.

    Spurs to win 3-2.

    • Accy March 11, 2018 at 10:43 am

It’ll either be 4-1 or 2-0 to us.

Possibly it’ll be some other ratio of goals we score to goals that they score.

  • Lilywhite without the ll March 11, 2018 at 10:32 am

I think West Ham have enough to stay up which is rather disappointing but you can live in hope 😁

    • Accy March 11, 2018 at 10:34 am

Brom and Ham going down with Arsenal finishing 7th would be a fucking amazing season.

    • gloster1861 March 11, 2018 at 10:38 am

You seen their remaining fixtures? In April they’ve got Chelsea and Arsenal away, and City at home (and that could be the title winning game). 😁😁😁😁

      • gloster1861 March 11, 2018 at 10:40 am

Their next game is an absolute must win with Saints. For both clubs.

        • caveman March 11, 2018 at 11:12 am

  • Accy March 11, 2018 at 10:27 am

I’d be surprised if Son and Dier started today. They need R & R, preferably in a Bupa hospital.

Would love big Vic to get a full 90 as he is after all, MyFavouriteSpursPlayer™.

Can imagine Sissoko will be wheeled out for this one in some shape or form.

    • gloster1861 March 11, 2018 at 10:31 am

Sissoko’s movement on the pitch can best be described as ‘trundling about’. However, he doesn’t decide if he plays or not, that’s down to Pochettino.

  • Lilywhite without the ll March 11, 2018 at 10:20 am

See at the West Ham game they had a tribute to Bobby Moore. Yet when he was alive they didn’t want anything to do with him and he even had to pay for his own ticket to go to a game…

    • Harry Hotspur March 11, 2018 at 10:24 am

Spurs treated Greaves and John White the same.

      • gloster1861 March 11, 2018 at 10:28 am

John White? I thought he died young when still at his height?

        • SpurAndy 🍒π March 11, 2018 at 10:52 am

White died in 64 when he was killed by lightning. He was 27.

          • East Stand March 11, 2018 at 11:06 am

Correct, you couldn’t make it up but it’s true. Sheltered from the rain on a golf course in outer Enfield and a lightening strike killed him. Don’t shelter under trees when there’s lightning is the moral of that story…
