Pritchard, Onomah, Ball Etc…

By The Boy -

This blog has many superstars, Arcane is merely one of the very super ones.

So yet another thank you.

We need to make room for 3 or 4 new young prospects to get the opportunity to earn their keep.

The difficulty, if we really are going to back ourselves step up to CL level (and that remains for Levy to demonstrate this window), is not with the players who’ve had their chance like Mason.

Difficult decisions will have to be made about Pritchard, Onomah, Ball etc.

Of course they’re promising enough to keep. The question remains, is their development likely to be better aided by staying now or being loaned out (again) first and coming back later. If they ‘re not yet strong enough to fight for enough game time there’s no point in wasting the season on a few substitute appearances. Then again how do you guarantee they’ll get more time on loan?

We’ve high hopes for Pritchard, who has looked the most ready (Personally I don’t think Onomah is), but he’ll have a lot of competition, and no team in our position can afford to give him a run of games for the sake of his potential.

I would expect at least 2 new signings (of up to 5 altogether) to be exciting young prospects, more advanced in their development but still not entirely proven.

That wouldn’t leave much room for all the academy players some want to see come through.

Ladies, what are you hopes for business transactions…

Or will our the squad that was humiliated in the Europa League, miraculously storm the Champions League?
