This will be a ‘fascinating’ game, if only from a tactical perspective.

IF Poch gets the selection and the tactics right, we could well do better than we might currently imagine.

The squad is a mess of injuries, politics and empty spaces that ought to have been filled in the last window.

However this doesn’t automatically equate to a shambles, tomorrow night.

Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld have been rock solid and Rose has proved himself better than Ben Davies of late.

So I am struggling to see the possibility of Jan being sidelined as a complete and utter disaster.

The biggest riddle for Poch to solve is who he partners with Eric Dier.

Surely the out of steam form Mousa isn’t in the equation after a massively lacklustre showing against the mighty Huddersfield Town on Saturday?

Which leaves Mauricio staring down the barrel of the ‘Will it be Sissy or Victor?’ barrel.

Hobson’s choice, eh?

If we keep giving away “bargain balls like we have been doing, we may get stuffed later. We have to play our own game and disrespect them. Lads. watch the way they kicked us up (literally) last time we played them. Bastards

    Gazza
    Rose/Sanchez/Toby/Trips
    Lamela/Wanyama/Winks/Sissoko
    Moura/Kane

Bench: KWP, Dier, Son, Hugo, Davies, Llorente, Foyth

We can barely field a team and a full bench. Whoever starts, it’s like re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic at this point.

Didn’t do nuffink cache wise. Just got back from the Horse & Groom and Bob’s yer unkle. Amaizin wot a couple of swifties can resolve.

It’s 4-1 Tottingham all the way. No doubt about it.

  • MrChickenHead October 2, 2018 at 10:50 pm

I reckon Winks too, in other news Luke Amos is gone for the season poor kid.

  • sdspurs October 2, 2018 at 10:09 pm

    He’ll play winks.

    Lloris
    Rose/Sanchez/Tobes/Trips
    Winks/Dier
    Son/Lamela/Moura
    Kane

Poch will fancy our ability to hold on the ball, and will want to avoid giving them too many chances on the break.

Be wary of wounded Barca as it will either be a close contest or a tonking!
Keeping Messi quiet for 90 mins is a mission in itself!

    FULL-TIME
    Man Utd 0-0 Valencia
It’s all over. Boos ring out around Old Trafford. That’s four games without a win for United.

Well, favourites Lyon didn’t win, despite 2 quick goals with 20 mins to go and surely the momentum. Madrid paying dues for the last 3 years? And Munich can’t break down ajax all 2nd half……and Utd 0 all at home…..hmmmm, someone’s making a living anyhow.

  • Is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? October 2, 2018 at 9:14 pm

    0-2 Shaktar. God its predictable

        A double! Got the goal

  • Is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? October 2, 2018 at 8:52 pm

We may av a chance tommorow cos the CL is bent as a 9 bob….I took 3/1 Shaktar at Lyon after them ‘winning’ at City last time it seemed like a cert for the usual nonsense tonight. Madrid losing at CSKA and Ajax level in Munich its a BT bonanza. 2nd halfs will be interesting.

    • Is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? October 2, 2018 at 9:01 pm

I need Lyon to get a goal on the goal rush so be good if I’m wrong about Shak

Feck the Ball, Botch should have them running up and down The Stand Steps, like in the olden days. Then again we don’t have any 👍🏾

We can add Aurier to that list of outs now. Have we got enough to get an 11 on the pitch?

Neither ENIC or Levy could give a flying fig about whether we do well in the CL or for that matter any Cup Competition. The “project” is all about maximising on the ROI. That means zero net investment in the playing staff. The minimum salary levels for players that can be got away with. The maximum ticket costs that can be got away with from the client reference numbers. Getting out of the cup competitions early is better so the lean and bare depth of the squad can be focused purely on scrapping to get into a top four slot in order to keep the maximum payments coming in for CL qualification and a top four EPL placement. There is zero, neinte, zip, rien, nichts, niksen intend on investing anything to actually win anything. Seeing Dier every match and playing alongside Sissoko against Barca is beyond parody. Glorious new dawn……… not in the grey, toneless, monotone world that Herr Flick Levy resides in…. that dawn will only rise when ENIC depart and the sooner that happens the better.

      We are Arsenal now.

      • Exile October 2, 2018 at 5:48 pm

At least wenger kept them in the cl when they migrated to the emirates. We probably would have better to buy Wembley for 600 million than pay over a £1 billion for a new as yet unnamed stadium. With Wembley we would have had guaranteed stadium use from other sources like internationals American football and concerts. Accept Wembley is not a great experience but it would not have been a millstone round the club’s neck which the new stadium will be.
I assume our owners are expecting to make a fortune redeveloping the area for their pockets.

        • Is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? October 2, 2018 at 6:07 pm

Shoulda stayed where we were and extended the Paxton. Whatta disaster.

  • PlayitagainSamways October 2, 2018 at 1:55 pm

Lamela over Son all day long for this one.

Sonny should return against Cardiff as he is much better suited to scoring against average shyte than quality.

Looking forward to this game as it is one where having zero expectation makes it all the more enjoyable.

    • Ronan October 2, 2018 at 2:07 pm

Lamela has never scored in the champions league. In the premier league, he’s scored 12 in five years.

      • Accy October 2, 2018 at 2:09 pm

Can’t wait til the day he is replaced with someone better. However, he’s contributing at the moment, and we need him.

        • Ronan October 2, 2018 at 2:29 pm

Yeah, not rubbishing him at all. Just saying Sonny’s a more likely game changer on past evidence.

Winks still injured? Sissy should simply never be an option, I think we look better with 10 men than when he plays. Even on his best game ever for us, the players around him simply look worse. would also consider Son over Moura.

  • Exile October 2, 2018 at 1:01 pm

Fans should enjoy Messi and co tomorrow because it will be a long time before such illustrious company visit our yet to be named ground in European football.
As has been stated ad nauseum the bravery shown by our investment in the playing staff over the summer has come back to haunt the loyal paying spurs public.
Hopefully the fans will make it quite clear to levy that his is the culprit for this state of affairs

  • Limerick AL. October 2, 2018 at 12:59 pm

Winks is a lovely Chap, sadly if he is chosen I can’t see a ‘Game of My Life ‘ scenario. Hope I am wrong.

  • Is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? October 2, 2018 at 12:53 pm

*footnote. By all accounts Kovacic has been terrific for Chelsea.

What a difference he, Brozovic, Yarmalenko, Lozano or the like could have made to our current situation.

  • Is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? October 2, 2018 at 11:58 am

Eriksen, Dembele, Vertonghen and Dele all out. Levy’s nonsense really coming home to roost now.

  • Accy October 2, 2018 at 11:36 am

Can see Winks getting the nod if Dembele doesn’t start.

Or even Winks and Wanyama if Jan isn’t back, with Dier moving into a back 3.

Sissoko shouldn’t be anywhere near Neasdon for this one.

    • Harry Hotspur October 2, 2018 at 12:00 pm

      Winks looked fitter.

  • Meeee October 2, 2018 at 11:31 am

Not sure Son is match fit, mate

      • Accy October 2, 2018 at 12:44 pm

Sonny’s been abject so far. Giving the ball away too many times.
