Home » Poch Tipped To Quit

Trawling as one does, I could not help be chilled to the bone by Paul Merson’s column from the Daily Star.

Bare in mind this was published before the Chelsea game.

“Tottenham look tired to me, which is a worry so early in the season but they have bought badly as well.

Pochettino says they need more quality but look what he bought in the window. Moussa Sissoko was a panic buy and he’s not been very good. Neither has Vincent Janssen.

I think Pochettino can see they are a way off and knows he needs a few more players. He was laying down a marker.

If he doesn’t get them I think he’ll be gone. He’s an ambitious manager.

Bigger clubs wanted him in the summer and he’ll not be short of offers if he walks.

It’s no surprise to me Spurs went out of the Champions League but it shows you how big this game is that he rested players for it.

Spurs have to be in the Champions League. Daniel Levy will have told him they need to finish top four to help pay for the new stadium.

And if they don’t finish in the top four, next season players will leave. They want to be playing in the Champions League.”

Yes, yes, yes, he’s a dreadful old ****, but what in all of that can you actually mount a coherent argument against?

The thing with the truth is – complaining about where it came from – doesn’t diminish its value.
