Poch Has Lost His Mind

By The Boy -

Poch said: “If you analyse where we came from, it’s a fantastic time for Tottenham. Tottenham is not building in an artificial way. It is not about putting in money, money, money and build a fantastic team. Tottenham is genuine, a very natural process, and it is so exciting because it is unique in the world.”

Good grief.

Whilst it’s fortunate that we’re ‘getting away with it’ despite Levy continually undermining the squad with either no purchases or bad purchases, Poch has lost his mind here.

There is nothing organic about adding players to the squad the aren’t fit to play in the first team. That’s called setting fire to money. What’s next, Mauricio telling us that Clinton Cards, No’Cluedo and Sissoko were bought as part of some elaborate CIA inspired psychological mind trick, in order to make everyone else play better?

What’s more laughable/worse yet is the suggestion that this team has somehow achieved what it has this season through dint of modesty and pluck.

One of the many myths surrounding Spurs under Levy is that we cannot compete financially with anyone else. We’re the poor relation that get’s patted on the head for gallantly ‘giving it a go’ each season.

Total pish!

Have other club’s success been artificial, unethical, inauthentic? Give me a fakin break.

This how a bedwetter explains to his mummy that it’s not him and his flimsy bladder that is the problem. It’s the bed. It’s the glass he had his lemonade in. It’s the other boys calling him Wet Sheets Willy.

I’d swap a kidney for a trophy and I don’t give a damn how the winning goal goes in either.

You see Chummy, the history books say we won. And that’s all they say. There are no footnotes beneath the recorded winning of the trophy, such as *Woodgate was unaware the ball had randomly bounced off his face and had gone into the goal.

We’re a multimillion pound business that pumps out hundreds and hundreds of thousands of pounds each week in player’s wages.

The idea that Spurs are some sort of noble moral compass in the financial sewage pit that is the Premier League is complete garbage.

The truth is, we’ve never backed the football team as we ought to have because Baldo McClownstick knows his limitations. The one time he had a gun put to his head was when Bale went and the auditor was forced to going wild in the aisles and that ended miserably.

The ‘Levy runs a tight ship’ fallacy is about explode with all the subtly of an IRA nail bomb as Tottenham Hotspur Football Club take on about £400million in debt.

What Levy does is de-risk everything from player payments to Post It Note purchases. This is not to be confused with being skint. The fact that he’s the highest paid chairman in the league hints at there being no lack of cash floating about then it’s needed.

This stadium build haemorrhaged cash with bungle after well documented bungle before a brick was laid for at least 8 years.

Tottenham will achieve whatever they achieve this season despite the Club itself.

Poch has undoubtedly been a catalyst – and a bloody welcome one – however next month he’ll have only been at The Lane for 3 years. The net spend may be zero, but the process has been far from natural or unique. At time of writing Spurs under Levy have won a a solitary cup.

I’d save the romancing guano and the candy-coating until after we’ve improved upon what has been a very barren spell.

Finishing second will not be an improvement – if you’re actually in this for the football.
