Poch Apoplectic, But Publicly Gracious

By The Boy -

Make no mistake, Pochettino was left raging after the Danny Rose ‘bombshell’.

The culture that the gaffer has sought to engender at Spurs is one of camaraderie, esprit de corps. All for for one and none for disappearing off down to The Current Bun to bemoan only earning twice in a week that which an ordinary man takes home annually.

“He apologised to the club and to the chairman, the management, his team-mates and the fans. That I think was good. I was a player and sometimes, after seven months that you don’t play, you’re a little bit frustrated for different reasons.  For me it’s not a big issue.

[The disruption] was more outside the club. The players were really calm and we were very calm. Sometimes you understand the frustrations for some players. In the end it was his opinion and then he understood that he maybe needed to apologise to us. I think that is very good for him and the club.

I forgive that and now it’s for me to move on. He needs to be focused on being fit as soon as possible and trying to help the team.”

Danny Rose is now on a very short leash. They all are.

Not because Poch is a company man towing the company line, but because he genuinely wants to build something decent, something honourable at Tottenham. Dissent is anathema to that.

Rose’s idiocy has not set anyone back but Rose.

The kid is a dumb-dumb and Poch is beyond furious that anyone at the club believes his vision has been compromised.

Poch has played this down, but only a fool would mistake this entire scenario as a mere slap on the wrist exercise.

We’re left with question marks over the relationships between our playing staff and the management.

There are a number of guns against Levy’s head at any one time. None are ever held by the Danny Roses of this world.
