Thank you again, Forensic Onions

Lloris – Had his clown boots on tonight.

Aurier – Man, what a pointless 50m this was.

Sanchez – Good game.

Alderweireld – Very good game, brought the ball out well too.

Vertonghen – Good game.

Rose – Good energy tonight, very involved in forward areas, as ever the quality of his delivery left a lot to be desired for most of the game but did float in the cross that Llorente scored the winner from.

Sissoko – Was pretty meh for the most part first half, no catastrophe’s but brought nothing innovative either, got hemmed in a couple of times at RWB and coughed up the ball, but otherwise was more meh. 14 forward passes in 70 minutes is really not great.

Winks – Good game. As ever got through a lot of ball. Tried to move us forward (31 forward passes/81) and keep the ball ticking.

Eriksen – Did see a lot of the ball and was heavily involved but too much of what he did tonight was disappointing by his standards tonight (27 fwd passes/63)

Son – This was shaping up to be one of those frustrating bumbly nights until he lashed home the 80th minute equaliser, which nearly wiped the previous 79 minutes from memory.

Llorente – He’s not going to give us that uberness of Kane, but he actually did see a fair bit of ball tonight, did work hard, and he looked so crestfallen when those chances didn’t go in, it was palpable joy to see him get the winner, probably from the only cross anyone put near him all night, and even then he had to work it. Decent game.

Moura – The usual Moura bag. Lots of vim, not so much composed product, but did inject some much needed energy. Decent cameo.

  • Aside from cerebrospinal fluid, what's on your mind?

Moura’s cameo was plenty of energy that I think rattled Watford. Unlucky to have been denied a penalty, though perhaps the fact he was wearing a Spurs shirt counted against him. The ref probably considered that Moura’s lack of height made the defender falling all over him was unavoidable. He was probably the most fouled player for minutes on the pitch.

The thing people forget about Danny Rose is much like the thing people forgot about Kyle Walker – his first thought when receiving the ball is FORWARD and at max pace if possible – this constantly occupies the other teams territory and keeps them out of ours, so very much a case of attack being the best form of defence. He/this also lifts the team generally, drags our other players forward and constantly occupies the thoughts of the opposition. There’s no doubt in my mind that we look/ed better with than without him/them. First choice left back we have all day long for me.

I also really liked Winks in this match, saw some real grit and responsibility from him and flashes of the player he could possibly be for us in the future. Tin tin however imho stunk the place out AGAIN, and i’m not just talking about stats, the boy mentally left the building weeks ago and because of the talent he does have he’s been our most disappointing player for me in the last four or five matches.

IMO introduction of moura changed the game.llorente is so poor when he has time to think. His two misses were probably the worst I’ve seen this season.then when being dragged & pulled ,stopping him jumping,he produces a sublime header, wtf. The second half performance was as good as Utd but without the clear cut chances.
