The Champions League, they said.

It’ll be a ball, they said.

They lied.

Like a dog chasing a car, Spurs wouldn’t know what to do with it even if they caught it.

The chances of this dog catching this car are not so much slight, as irrelevant.

All Spurs achieve by winning this game is prolong the agony and wear the tyres on this squad a little balder.

What’s life’s safety net?

The war of attrition that is the Europa League!

For those that wish to ponder on fact, opposed to fiction, PSV were a substandard outfit last time round, and I believe I equated them to the sort of muck one would normally bump into in the Europa League’s Round Of 16 – on a wet Thursday night.

It will be interesting to see how many brave pilgrims bother trudging out to Wembley to watch this footballing feast.

Prediction? Another draw.

Compare us to Man City, Madrid and Barcelona and you will see everything that is wrong with football and glory that you are even comparing us, compare us to Everton, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Man Utd and you will see Glory, add up all the premiership points over the last 4 seasons and you will see more glory. Glory isn’t about trophies.

Got a feeling Skipp will be wheeled out if we play 433. That said, that would leave no other midfielders on the bench. So it’ll probably be 4231

I don’t want to sound like a man that stalks young men in shorts, but I’d be interested to see Skipp play.

He’s very good for an 18 year old, and we know Poch doesn’t include youngsters without merit.

Give him a few years and he’ll probably be a useful defensive midfielder.
