Home » Patience Is The Key

Nabil Bentaleb, Clinton N’Jie, Federico Fazio and Alex Pritchard have all been left behind in jolly old Blighty by Mauricio.

Bentaleb hasn’t featured for Spurs in months and despite being sidelined with some injury if another for a while, it was clear when he left the sick list he was never going anywhere near the first team again.

The Fazio situation looks dire for the player, with his age indicating he’d be closer to looking for a testimonial than a comeback.

Pritchard has been bumbling around Tottenham Hotspur Football Club to little purpose since 2011.

Seven loan spells achieved nothing that had a dramatic effect on his career path, yet there were rumblings on social media that some ten Championship sides were interested in signing the 23 year old.

It was at Brentford that he some isolated success, scoring 12 goals in 47 appearances.

If I were his agent, I’d seek to get the boy in with them.

This transfer window has become irritating quicker than most.

The support appears divided into two camps.

Those who appreciate the need for reinforcements and crucially, the addition of some flair to the side, and those who are happy to find fault in every damn potential target we might be linked with.

Right now, I fail to recognise ambition being exhibited.

This squad found itself ultimately humiliated in the Europa League.

Without significant recruitment, our Champions League campaign will be an extremely short one.

To suggest otherwise defies analysis/logic and all manner of sane practises.

In the respect of other outgoing players, ‘all quiet on the Western Front’ isn’t in it.

Mason being a notable exception.

The continued indulgence of the likeable, but not actually very good Chadli feels inevitable.

At time of blogging. Arsenal are said to be very close to signing Leicester City’s Mahrez.

But I must not let my thoughts rise above my station.

Mahrez is clearly a one season wonder and hysterically overpriced.

Thank Christ we haven’t gone stark raving mad and started chasing useless peacocks such as him…

We are merely 15 years and 13 managers into a project that has already exceeded expectations by delivering a League Cup win – when the ball hit Jonathan Woodgate’s face and went in.

“Long is the way and hard, that out of Hotspur Way leads up to light.”

It’s blindingly obvious that what is required here is patience.
