For all of Tottenham’s brilliance, Everton failed to register a single shot on target and – following a strong start under Sam Allardyce – they are now without a win from their last six matches.

Wayne Rooney thought he had opened the scoring for the Toffees only for his header to be correctly disallowed for offside. Allardyce felt Kane’s opening goal could also have been ruled out.

“The disappointing thing for us is, what would the game have finished like had we scored the first goal when Wayne’s got disallowed?” Allardyce said.

“Or what would the game have gone like if Harry’s goal would have been disallowed – because I think it’s offside looking on the laptop.

“What I can’t excuse is out capitulation after we went 2-0 down. But for Jordan Pickford they would have had more goals today and I’m hugely disappointed in the professionalism of my players.”

If Aurier could only cross like Trippier he’d be complete..lucky with the scuff that landed on Son’s foot…

Rose should be back for Man U

Toby should be back for Arsenal

  • McG ⚽️⚽️ January 14, 2018 at 11:19 am

So glad we’ve ditched 5 at the back while Toby’s out, Poch seems to have twigged. Wonder what he’ll do once we have him back? Watched MOTD this morning, played some brilliant footie yesterday, some of the best this season. I think we have to stick with Aurier for a while now, we look better going fwd. All of a sudden our bench looks stronger, coming together nicely, just at the right stage of the season. Shame the first half was a bit hit & miss, but here we are 3 points off 2nd & 3rd, class prevails.

  • Matt January 14, 2018 at 11:06 am

I think Dier is under rated. We’d have been stuffed without his versatility. As a DM I rate Wanyama higher but that’s because I think they’re two of the best DMs in the EPL .

    • Accy January 14, 2018 at 11:14 am

For me, Dier is a good utility player who always has a mistake in him. Defensively I think he’s very good, and, on days like yesterday he can produce the goods, yet on any other given day he can be pretty sloppy with his passing.

Wanyama is streets ahead in terms of ability. Dier is a very useful squad member (for me).

  • Kwakspur January 14, 2018 at 10:39 am

The amount of times Lloris has saved us is unforgettable. He’s allowed the odd weak kick or getting caught running out as a sweeper or the odd mistake.

Our WEAKEST link has always been Dier. Notice how smooth things run after Wanyama came on for him [& he ain’t even 100% yet]

Two seasons ago he was a rock, then he started listening to the hype, thought he was better than he is & his form slid off a cliff.
He’s going same way as Walker for good reason UNLIKE Walker, sadly.
It’s so funny how ppl are seeing Walkers qualities now he’s left.
Hope you guys don’t start to regret the abuse you give Rose when he’s gone.
OK, he shouldn’t have gone to the papers/ 5 Live, put he spoke the truth!
Maybe that is the seed that forces Levy to pay alot closer to going rate sooner rather than later.

TOby is doing a much classier version of what Rose tried to do.
& Will eventually get what he wants & deserves.

    • Freund or Foe January 14, 2018 at 10:47 am

No regrets, Rose is a twat. He could go on to win countless trophies, wouldn’t make a blind bit of difference.

Guilty leaving early to get home in good time. Daughter ate too much donut and diet coke at half time yuk. Wembley is v good for the fair weather fans, youngsters, girlfriends, tourist fans. Can get tkts easily for top prem or Cl game what’s not too like. Quite a few bods happy to chat in the concourse 10 mins after 2nd half started! Can’t wait for the FedEx stadium but the after a terrible run of Wembley defeats over many years we are finally “at home” there. Im really enjoying it! Turning into a good season again Harry fitness pending obvs. Results are everything in this game. Yday, livpoo, Real, BvB.. Hammers would love the taxpayer arena if they were top 4 maybe in 97 years when their lease is up. Up the Spurs.

  • Matt January 14, 2018 at 10:18 am

The passing yesterday was first rate and Dembele was outstanding. Either this window or next we just need another AM of the same quality as our starting 3, preferably a wide player. Not an inverted winger.

  • Freund or Foe January 14, 2018 at 10:18 am

This Jay Rodriguez racism thing, isn’t it obvious that he was just taking this piss, suggesting he had bad breath?

    • East Stand January 14, 2018 at 10:29 am

This has become a social media industry, it’s based on the idea that every thing that s ever said about a so called ‘minority’ must be vetted intensely in order to see if some kind of racist or sexist slant can be dug out of it or interpreted differently.

Sounds like this whole H&M thing has gotten completely out of control and it was whipped up on social media. Just because somebody suddenly says “that’s racist” does not mean that it is or was it intended that way.

Does any truly sane person believe that H&M’s global advertising department or agency would knowingly lead an ad campaign with a racist comment? They would risk the reputation of he business? Offend the thousands of black staff that work for them?

I’m afraid the world has been taken over by social media which is now mainly a platform dominated by thick wankers with nothing else to do…

      • East Stand January 14, 2018 at 10:32 am

H&M dealt with it wrongly by making an outright apology, they should have said that they regret that it has been seen as racist but that there was no racist intent whatsoever and let people pick the bones out of that. They’ve panicked and been bullied into apologising for something they didn’t actually do. Sad state of affairs.

  • caveman January 14, 2018 at 8:55 am

To a man they played great yesterday and I’m beginning to agree with Easty that the media never give Spurs due credit for disposing of whats in front of them, always how easy the opposition made it for them. That fourth goal was brilliant. Had Manchester City scoared that goal it would have been shown time and again, but it was Evertons awfulness that made it easy for spurs. Spurs played with skill, confidence and authority yesterday and deserve plaudits for it. They look as though they have reached they’re peak and will see out the season like last season. COYS.

    • East Stand January 14, 2018 at 10:16 am

If we get these players all back to match fitness I predict a decent run in.

      • McG ⚽️⚽️ January 14, 2018 at 11:05 am

We’re on a decent run already. Yeah, getting everyone match fit willl help, but having Dembele, Wanyama & Toby back, that’s the key! Two thirds there…

  • San Diego Spurs January 14, 2018 at 8:39 am

    – Dele Alli has provided seven assists in 22 Premier League games this season, equalling his tally from 2016-17 (7 assists in 37 apps).

    • Not a Real Fan. January 14, 2018 at 8:45 am

It would be interesting to know how many of those have been game-affecting, rather than yesterday’s for example

      • Freund or Foe January 14, 2018 at 8:49 am

I’ve just asked Ruby Mae, she says don’t worry, he’s still got game.

    • East Stand January 14, 2018 at 10:21 am

Alli is not great on the ball and never has been.

Great off the ball, laying it off, playing one twos finding space and finishing but facing goal with passing options around him he dithers. It’s not his game, something he needs to get better at and part for the reason he’s not done so well this season.

Because of his raised profile he’s expected to create more in every situation and with the ball at his feet when his game generally comes to life when it leaves his feet in attacking areas. He’s almost like second striker.

  • Sexy Beast January 14, 2018 at 8:36 am

I have just been reading that No’Cludo had quite a decent game when he played 30 minutes yesterday 😳

    • SpurAndy 🍒π January 14, 2018 at 9:07 am

When he first came on he was awful, giving the ball away every time he got it. Grew into the game a bit after but decent? Depends on your definition of decent.

    • Harry Hotspur January 14, 2018 at 9:08 am

Please tell me you’re not basing that on the 4 Tweets in that HITC piece written by an Indian who learned English by mail order?

Don’t shoot the messanger! Je wizz i just woke up and seen something positive about one of our players so i shared it with your followers, why do i feel like you want to bludgeon me??

        • Harry Hotspur January 14, 2018 at 10:40 am

I’m hung up on facts. Sorry for appearing to be a nazi camp guard, but many people are afraid too fucking thick and will read your words and then say ‘they were saying on the Hotspur twat’s blog that Georges had a good game’, this does my head in.

He probably wasn’t awful, Burnley had a poor game and their fans were rather desperately looking for positives.

  • Willy Juice January 14, 2018 at 8:04 am

i know alot of people dont like dier but when hes in dm he does a good job. now when we are up against weaker teams theres no need for him and vic holding.

    • Not a Real Fan. January 14, 2018 at 8:36 am

Although he played fairly well and got an assist, he also gave the ball away in an area which would have cost us a goal against a better side. Wanyama’s got less mistakes in him these days.

  • TomSpur January 14, 2018 at 2:04 am

So Toby’s rejected the latest contract over, according to the Times. So last week’s scoop here was a tad premature.

    • Harry Hotspur January 14, 2018 at 9:09 am

You must be new. The itk on here has frequently frustrated wankers. I remember a few years ago running pieces on Gareth Bale’s signing and David Bentley both took a while to be announced buy announced they were.

      Have a pleasant wank.

  • TheCincinnatiYid January 14, 2018 at 2:04 am

Surge was serging. Did much more to earn his keep. Like the way Sissy sussed forward with the ball. Direct and forceful. Now if he could shoot and control on first contact. I still wonder why Poch was keeping the first eleven on till the 75’ or so. Totally unnecessary. Would have been a good chance to blood N’Voodoo and Marcus Edwards

    • East Stand January 14, 2018 at 10:13 am

He and Pulis and Pardew have done more to set back English football and it is now only starting to recover

    • gloster1861 January 13, 2018 at 11:37 pm

Add Pulis to that lot. And then you hear the complaint British managers never get the top jobs…

  • gloster1861 January 13, 2018 at 11:09 pm

Nice of Everton to make it easy for us. A win against Saints will tee us up nicely to destroy ManUre and poo.

    • gloster1861 January 13, 2018 at 11:16 pm

      And then Arse.

ManUre, then Poo, then Arse. Is there a pattern here? Perhaps in reverse.

  • SeattleSpursGuy January 13, 2018 at 11:03 pm

Lots of talk that Fatty wants Walcott. Can’t see that as helpful.

  • Hartley™ January 13, 2018 at 11:02 pm

It was clear that Everton didn’t have a shot on target by the scoreline.
When teams have a shot on target against us it is usually described as a goal.

    • gloster1861 January 13, 2018 at 11:05 pm

    • Spursy January 13, 2018 at 11:23 pm

I thought the opposite regards man management, SSG. Sam knows his stuff and I reckon he’s got a whiff of complacency at Everton. He was correct about the way Everton stopped competing. That interview was warming up those Everton lads for the Allardyce Hairdryer in the coming week. I wouldn’t want to be there in the next few days.

I’m sure he will jump on them Spursy, and they will have it coming. I just tend to think going public with a strong criticism like ‘unprofessional’ could backfire.

  • East Stand January 13, 2018 at 10:46 pm

Fat Sam is a sore loser and he hates Spurs so he’s getting stuck into his players and making excuses.

Fact is Poch had a word with them at HT and they came out a different team. Spurs stepped it up and Everton couldn’t cope.

Allardyce likes to play games as if they’re a war of attrition, when his team is outclassed he finds find that harder to do. Sore loser, fuck off Sam…
