No Enquiries Made – Rumours Are Complete Invention

By The Boy -

It is difficult to isolate the ‘original source article’ for this particular transfer rumour, but given that is is complete nonsense, one may as well cite YahooSport who at least haven’t bothered to credit anyone.

£55m rated midfielder Tanguy Ndombele was mumbled about – briefly – in last summer’s window, but of course like every other supposed link, nothing vaguely panned out.

Indeed, whilst it wasn’t in the interest of the mainstream football press to shout it from street corners, but virtually all of Tottenham’s prospective deals were complete fantasy.

Toby Alderweirled was rendered unsellable at the money Spurs were asking, and so Manchester United were completely out the picture weeks if not months BEFORE that rumour was doing the rounds on an almost weekly basis.

Danny Rose was another example, if ever there was a case of a man talking himself out of potential move…

Harry Hotspur understands from sources close to the club that there have yet to be any discussions – even preliminary ones  – about prospective January window targets.

Indeed, the atmosphere on that front within Spurs is best described as, ‘professional’.

Tottenham have more immediate issues before them; namely the retention of existing personnel.

There will be more on this as it inevitably unfolds.

In the interim, if anyone tries to sell you big tales of big transfer strategies for the new year – I would suggest you simply politely smile sympathetically at them.
