Gladys tells me the talk of Hotspur Way since the new boys arrived has mostly centred around one player. Davinson Sanchez.
The Colombian began to swiftly look at home in the England; certainly did enough to warrant Mauricio Pochettino to give the boy 5 Premier League starts as well making the starting XI for both of Tottenham’s Champions League matches.
The 21 year old lad (who appears not to need to cheat/practise embarrassing handshakes/play Rock, Paper, Scissors etc…) has been a smash hit in training and already being tipped to be in the same class as footballing household names Franco Baresi and and Franz Beckanbauer.
These are extraordinary flattering comparisons. The Italian central defender spent his entire 20-year career with Serie A club A.C. Milan. The German genius was not just known for being completely reliable, but for being a most polished footballer.
We’ve had snippets from Glad in the past, I can certainly recall a conversation where the ill-fated Clinton Cards had been on the receiving end of Poch’s praise – but that particular wind up toy could buy a game with us. Sanchez has not required a ‘behind the scenes’ campaign of nurturing.
Of course, the boy Davinson cost around about four times the money, which ought to explain a lot more and reassuringly it does.
The feeling at Spurs is that this Ajax pedigree looks to have been a very sound long term investment.
The ‘Find A Spurs Star’ quiz on the last blog proved fiendishly difficult. Good.
Although this one was cracked 👇
= Eiður Guðjohnsen.
So can you crack the either of the remaining two?
