Naming Rights Update

By The Boy -

Gladys believes that Naming Rights negotiations for the New Destination™ have been a car crash.

Our illustrious leader initially hired sponsorship specialists TRM, but then lost patience and guess what?

Yup, he edecided he would micro manage it all himself.

Levy reportedly wanted a deal worth £20m per year for 20 years.

Hewlett Packard have a longstanding relationship with Tottenham Hotspur.

The American company’s branding previously adorned the north London club’s playing strip between 1995 and 1999.

In 2003 HP were back on the shirt again, stepping in to take up the slack on AIA’s first deal which included the FA Cup, Capital One Cup and Europa League games, while HP will retained sponsorship of the Spurs’s Premier League match shirts.

Glad understands that Hewlett Packard are currently in pole position and unless something seismic happens, it will be their name in lights.

Additionally AIA have graciously declined to bid on the naming rights and are said to be extremely happy with the bang they are getting for their current marketing buck.

There is also the small matter of AIA’s existing presence in the Premier League courtesy of the AIA Vitality Stadium at Bournemouth.

Returning to Hewlett Packard would smack of calling the ex in your phonebook that would probably be agreeable to you popping round with a bottle of wine at short notice.

Given Levy’s penchant for payment plans the Hire Purchase Arena would be fitting.
