‘Might Be Eriksen’ Nasty Clue Dropped After Palace Fiasco [video]

By The Boy -

Jermaine Jenas isn’t someone known for making outlandish claims. There’s a reason his vanilla tones are such good fit for the BBC.

We will never ever see the likes of Graham Roberts on prime-time TV, simply because he would find it impossible to control himself and become overcome need to seek attention.

In the clip above, Jenas revisits the Levy mantra of sell to buy, and for reasons best known to himself, offered up Christian Eriksen as the possible sale – next summer.

He could have named anyone. But he didn’t.

Also lost in the F.A. Cup in 1959 to Worcester City! while during statistically their worst ever season (11th in the old second division) in 1954-55, they suffered their worst ever defeat, a 9-1 thumping at St Andrews at the hands of Birmingham City! (recently acquired a copy of the programme for this match)

In case you are wondering, Orient were out of their depth in the old first division in 62-63. I think they garnered about 18 points from a possible 84 (two points for a win in those days, remember) and were relegated alongside Manchester City.

Won the league for the fifth time in 1947 and then didn’t win another trophy (excluding 2nd division championship in 1962 when they came up with Leyton Orient!) until their next title in 1964. They won The Cup for the first time EVER in 1965.

As per football 365
LIVERPOOL – 17 years
The Reds ended the first season after the Second World War as First Division champions, but that triumph was their last for over a decade and a half. They even spent eight seasons between 1954 and 1962 jobbing around in Division Two before returning to the top flight and winning the title again within two years under Bill Shankly.
Liverpool are currently amid their most barren run in the 55 years since. The Reds went five full seasons without a trophy before winning the Diet Treble in 2001, but defeat in the Champions League final last year made it six full seasons that the club have won nothing under Brendan Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp. They have come close, finishing as runners-up in the Premier League, League Cup and the Europa League in addition to the near-miss in Kiev last June, but Klopp will be hoping to end this trophyless run in May in the same way Shankly did in 1964

I would always class us as a 2 tier club – and have always been. A club that is up there and abouts, winning trophies or near top of the table for pretty much our whole history. Top tier are your Man Uniteds and Liverpools where winning is engrained in them. I would be interested to see what decade the Liverpool drought occurred.

They are now because of their wealthy investors. Rangers and Celtic get big attendances but are small clubs because they have little money. Not sure where we are because, in some ways, we’re a small club or likely to become one because our money’s going down the tubes due to the stadium.

Success wise, historically, i’d place us somewhere in the top twelve, perhaps top ten. We haven’t won enough league titles. It really is extraordinary how we’ve only managed to land two of them – same as the likes of Burnley, Preston, Derby and Portsmouth.

I’m inclined to agree. Yes, he’s a very fine player (and one of our very best) but he’s posted missing in tough games. He does have a considerable downside and seems to lack mental toughness. Tin Tin somehow such an appropriate nickname. Yes, he’s pretty useful but he annoys the shit out of me, too.

I visited DML today – they are still defending Poch and Levy for the FA cup exit and claiming we cant compete. One person on there has actually shown that for the £60m+ of Moura, Nkoudou and Aurier, plus wages and we could have got someone like Mahrez (including the wages, actually Mahrez works out cheaper per week).

You missed that his dead balls are the most over rated out of any player in the PL. I don’t want him to go, but I couldn’t agree more, I don’t think its all down side – the issue will be that ENIC will not reinvest. They will say Eriksen for say £100m and then spend £50-75m on 3 players and pocket the change, where they should sell for £100m and buy for the same just 1 player.

Capitlism ruined sport (football included) where money can be made, it will be. All that is changed is the business model. Once upon a time money makers goals lined up with the fans as winning things brought the most money. Now, however, more money is made coming 4th in the league than winning the FA cup. The top money makers goals are no longer aligned, and as time passes the goals will be further apart because money is all they have ever wanted.

Real’s stance I think is a bargening chip – “we don’t want him or need him” lets face it, going to Levy telling him he has what you need is not a great idea. Plus if real could get Hazard and Eriksen for £200m they would do both.

Just putting 2 & 2 together Jenas. Speculation over Eriksens contract & a team full of injuries creates a perfect story. If he goes just get the best price. On his day he’s very good but far too often he’s anonymous. If anyone willing to pay £100m plus ,they can have him.im sick of how well Liverpool have done Bollocks.Coutinho was exactly like Eriksen he too went missing for weeks on end so it wasn’t a huge miss for them to lose him & get £142m in the process. If ANY of the big six got their defence in order & went a season without injuries to their main spine of the team, they would be at or near the top

I think this is stating the bleeding obvious. He will have a year left on his contract in June so we will need to cash in. De Jong going to Barca rules out one potential destination but I’m sure there will be no shortage of other suitors, clubs with both money and a desire to be challenging for trophies. I sincerely hope that we can tie him down on a new long term deal but from his perspective i fully understand the reluctance to sign; why would he dedicate his best playing years to a club with such limited ambition?

Eriksen confuses me. On his day he is possibly the best football conductor in the game, but then he will go missing for large chunks of a season. For that alone I wonder how much we will miss him. I would rather someone slightly worse that turned up every game.

As for Poch…well…being linked to all the top sides and then that press conference. This leads me to believe that:
a) he is actually inept and poor as a manager. Cant see the issues in his squad and lack of depth, and cant realise that when you are driving on empty you don’t floor it wheel spin all the time.
or
B) he is a stooge, a company boy that tows the party line over the willingness for his own success. He see’s the issues but has been told to make do…so he does.

For me, I hope its A – I can forgive A, we all have our limitations, and inspite of them he is doing well. If its B, then we need to accept there is no level of competition on this planet more important that finishing higher than 4th for as little money as possible. If I were a united or Real fan, I would be hoping he stays at Spurs as if he is the B type manager you have to wonder if he has enough bite to want to win, enough pride to want it and do what needs to be done…and if he is A, then he simply isn’t good enough anyway.

Don’t get me wrong, I blame ENIC for the state we are in, but Poch is more than just complicit.

Is it just me? I have supported this club for a very long time. Stood shoulder to shoulder with my father and his father on the terraces , awestruck by the way we played the beautiful game and the atmosphere at White Hart Lane. I never ever thought that my love for this club would fade. Yet as I stand in the aftermath of yet another exit and capitulation and what was an insult to everything I based my unwavering passion for this club upon I now find myself starting to actually dislike the club. I know I shouldn’t feel that way and I have searched to find the word that best sums up why I am feeling that way and I come up with authentic. We are the most unauthentic club in the EPL. We are unauthentic in everything we do. We lack authenticity in every aspect of how we operate. We are not authentically looking to compete for anything that remotely represents “winning” . We have not been authentic about the stadium opening or the ticket fiasco. We are not authentic about looking to invest in the football business. Our pr spin is unauthentic. Our mantra about being in a different project is unauthentic alongside the reason why we cannot pay our players what is required to retain them and why we have to sell one to buy one. We have told the world that we see winning as unimportant and that what is important is leveraging the highest return for zero investment. No football club can exist authentically if it see’s a lack of desire to win every match as justifiable and a way to exist. The slogans on our new stadium and on our old one about “To dare Is to do” and ” The game is all about glory ” are totally unauthentic. Pooch’s press comments both post and pre match are increasingly unauthentic. To tell supporters who are paying among the highest ticket prices out there that the glory lies in generating the biggest bang for a buck for the owners shows a complete loss of authenticity throughout every aspect of management at the club. The problem is I am not sure how much longer I can continue with this unconditional love for a entity that is the most unauthentic I see as a football club. ENIC have latched onto the skin of THFC like a parasite and burrowed their way through the soul of the club over the past 17 years devouring every aspect of goodness that existed replacing it with a hollow emptiness that has nothing to give to anyone else and is just an unauthentic fasimile of what once existed. A football club that does not authentically exist as a football club is like a decaying corpse where the soul has left and all that remains is a lifeless shell and in our case one that is burying itself in a billion dollar coffin.

I said it the other day, and I will say it again. You want to make change, stop attending the matches. I don’t mean doing the “I will miss the first x minutes” bollocks – as you have paid your money already so Levy doesn’t care. I mean a full boycott. Many fans are already doing it, I am going to go one step further and I am not even going to watch on TV until things change. I will keep track of how we do etc…but I will not pay in any way to support them now as all you are doing is giving Levy more money, none of it ends up on the pitch.

Levy’s created a House of Cards.
The DL Vanity Project Stadium™ is killing us.
Club’s got No Cash.
And now we’ll be going Full Monty on the ‘Brentford Model’ of selling high and buying low.
Eriksen, Kane, Alli … will all be slowly sold off and the manager charged with finding discount replacements [so Levy can pocket the difference to try to bail himself out and increase his/ENIC’s profits down the road].
If Poch goes, and we get the wrong replacement [and the poison dwarf’s track record is awful here too], we’ll be truly fecked.
Plus if we don’t continue to be half decent, then we won’t get bums on seats in the DL Vanity Project Stadium™, that’ll only compound our problems.

Happy to see Eriksen leave for a nice wedge as long as we bring in a more consistent player. Granted that his good points should be marvelled at but in all honesty he is lacking so many other parts of his game.
1. He will not header the ball.
2. He will not contest a 50-50 if the ball is off the ground.
3. He can not tackle.
4. He does not thread the ball very well.
5. He has half the range of passing style than the great Glenda, very predictable and yet is lauded as our metronome (he is not).
This is our equivalent of the Coutinho transfer, looks damaging but actually liberating, just hurry up and do it.

Eriksen will be gone in the summer, the question is to which club.Barca don’t need him now and Real have apparently dropped their interest in him.You couldn’t blame him going to PSG as he would get much more money and win the French double every year.Much more than he’s won with us.As he disappears in games perhaps his choice is becoming limited.
Poch’s demeanour of late reminds me of Mourinho’s last days before his inevitable sacking. He’s putting himself into a corner with the same ending in sight, because although he is following the party line it is entirely possible we will miss out on a top four finish.
I would love to see Levy’s face the moment he realises there will be no CL in the new toilet.Such are the financial rewards CL qualification is all that matters.Remember Wenger was castigated for wanting a top four finish every year and now everyone is in the same boat.

Poch finally breaks the language barrier. It’s fair to say there’s a large degree of astonishment to the managers comments on trophy and egos. This is a club in its own self made crackers dimension, a club of perpetual last straws. Although we have heard simular in a slightly different accent from that pioneer board member football manager Arsene Wenger, but Maurice made it quite stark and bold. The comments in footballing terms are absolutely insane. When 2 teams form and meet to compete, at the heart of that is ego, and pride. It’s the crux of competition. It’s at the centre of everything sport is. The cold, hard fact of the managers comments are he is saying to players and fans that here, at ENIC FC, it doesn’t matter what your ambitions or dreams are, that is all of no consequence. Put your ego aside for you are all now in the business of making the owners money. That is the totalitarian red state of the matter. Glory, trophys, actual achievement that we could all be a part of that creates history, memories, that is the essence and whole point of being involved in the sport is now something to put aside for the greater good. Financial subservience. Tottenham fans, don’t give anymore money or support to this facade. It’s beyond supporting the team. Somethings has got to give. Even though I suppose it is too late. The manager is clearly lost in Levys bizarre maze, he will be gone soon and the Brady/Hindley double act will be confined to history. A history that was once made of glory but we have allowed these lunatics to write a chapter to end the story. I will remember them as complicit in the murder of THFC.

Eriksen is definitely a CL player and there’s no guarantee that we will be top 4 , if we make it I’m hoping that will be the incentive he needs to sign, more important for us to make top 4 than win the cup, imo, and I’m fairly certain that’s poch’s remit for the season, not one of our players yesterday filled me with confidence they could be an improvement on the first team and honestly the only way llorente will score is to put balls in the box, he will be playing a few more games yet, surely they realise that as the late goal against Fulham proved, oppo worried about him allowing HW to sneak in, I think poch had to play that team and keep CE and Toby etc back for the hornets match , much more important

This may be the final nail in the coffin for me. How can I continue to support my beloved football team when it has been hijacked by a bunch of ‘Neo-Con’ – ‘Let’s privatise wealth & socialise debt’ GANGSTERS.

I wan’t Spurs to win something in my lifetime and this last few years is as close as they have got but do I want ENIC, Levy & Lewis to succeed alongside that – NO, NO and NO. The wheels will fall off the cart and it looks like it’s going to be pretty soon, however, I fear that for as long as they can continue to cash in on dragging two axles around the Premier league – nothing will change – apart from the team and the manager of course.

Unfortunately, we’re up to our eyeballs in debt with the stadium and so you can understand why finishing in the top four is essential to our financial well being and winning cups is inconsequential. Of course, Sport is supposed to be primarily about glory and WINNING and not about money but that ideal became extinct when that wheezing lump of lard, Graham Kelly, sold the game’s soul to television.

Plus if we don’t continue to be half decent, then we won’t get bums on seats in the DL Vanity Project Stadium™, that’ll only compound our problems.

Nation of litter droppers, wish we weren’t.

As we are…Spurs should put a large contribution towards the upkeep of the area, as they are admitting, it’s in their own interests…

English football’s royalty, historically, Man U and Liverpool and, to a lesser degree, unpalatable as it is, of course, Arsenal (even our queen’s favourite team is reputedly, the Gunners. Growing up in the thirties, was she perhaps something of a glory hunter!)

In case you are wondering, Orient were out of their depth in the old first division in 62-63. I think they garnered about 18 points from a possible 84 (two points for a win in those days, remember) and were relegated alongside Manchester City.

You’ve got to go back further than tv.Jimmy hill lifting the wage cap has had huge implications for football.yes the stars should be paid well for the service they provide but what is the minimum wage that can be construed as well paid ? A hell of a lot less than £100k pw

Thanks, Nick, for putting this in the public domain (or rather, posting on our website) for others to see. As it happens, I was aware of these figures and our shorter drought.

I agree but success is relevant in the timescale & as such they are part of the current big 6.I would argue that we are not a big club, only in the delusional minds of our supporters. This is the project I believe,to make us a big club

There are ways to not criticise without backing it. Poch is very much not doing that.

Unfortunately, if Poch starts making noises about how pissed off he probably is with the situation he’s toast. Criticise your CEO in public and there is only one winner…and it’s not the poor manager!

When for all his faults unless we get anybody better Eriksen will be a huge loss if sold as he is vital to the cause / “project”.

Lacking pace Eriksen’s erratic form often frustrated the Denmark manager.
The plus side is that without conduit Eriksen we are lost!

Butterfly Eriksen is a good player but not great player!
Generally performs well dictating tempo against inferior opposition but has a habit of disappearing against the elite.
Now that our implosion has seemingly started. Happy Days!
